The ability to communicate with others, either one on one or in a teamenvironment, allows you to better streamline your workflow with fewer meetings, quicker decisions, andmore productivity.Using the Message menu option, you can communicate with anyone, be that someone on your team orsomeone you need to bring in from outside your company. There areseveral methods to logging in, and you may choose to login either on the RingCentral desktop app, your webbrowser, or mobile device. Let’s discuss each of those methods below.Logging in to the RingCentral mobile appIf you’d like to log in to the RingCentral mobile app, follow these steps:1. Launch the RingCentral app on your mobile device2. Click the Sign in button3. Select your preferred sign-in method from the login page. Options include signing in using either theRingCentral sign-in form, Google, or Single Sign-on (we’ll discuss signing in using each of thesemethods below)Logging in using your preferred login methodAs we discussed earlier, when you’re logging in to the RingCentral app, you’ll be presented with severalmethods for logging in. However, there are some navigational differences between thesetwo platforms. Let’s discuss some of the major layout and navigation features you’ll need to know to getstarted on the RingCentral mobile app.Navigating the RingCentral mobile app for AndroidThe RingCentral app for mobile is divided into several sections: the topheader bar, the center section, and the bottom menu bar.Please note that each of these sections may differ depending on whichpart of the app you’re in. Let’s review what you’ll commonly find witheach of these main navigation elements.Bottom menu barAs we discussed in Intro to the RingCentral app, you can seamlesslytransition between messaging, calls, and meetings within the app fordesktop, web, and mobile. RingCentral App Getting Started Guide 11For example, when you’re in the Message menu, the top bar will containthe following: a hamburger menu, a search bar, and a kabob menu, with aseries of tabs beneath. Clicking on these tabs takes you to one of theseactive conversation lists: all conversations, direct messages, teammessages, and favorited messages.The hamburger menu at top left appears in several locations throughoutthe app, including in every RingCentral app menu option. Let’s reviewbelow what you can access when you click on the hamburger menu.Hamburger menuWhen you click on the hamburger menu, a panel will slide out from theleft-hand side of the app containing the following options: Profile: Your profile appears at the top of the app with yourname, email address, and profile picture. Tap your profile pictureand choose to view the picture, take a new picture, or select anew picture from your mobile image galleryPresence: Your current RingCentral app presence appearsbelow your name and email address. Tap on your currentpresence and make a new selection from a list of optionsStatus: Select Share status to share a new status. If you alreadyhave a status created, click on your current status to make any changesAccept queue calls: Only available to admins, tap the Accept queue calls toggle to enable or disablethis optionTasks: Tap Tasks to visit a list of tasks assigned to you from all your active conversationsTeam events: Tap Team events to view a calendar of team events and tasks from all your activeconversationsAdmin tools: Only available to admins, tap Admin tools to view your company call logs, phonesystem, analytics, and billingSettings: Tap this option to navigate to a page of in-app settings. The options in this header bar differdepending on which mobile app menu you’re in.For example, when you’re in the Message menu, the top bar will contain the following: your profile picture, asearch bar and a new actions plus sign button with a series of tabs beneath. Clicking on these tabs takes youto one of these active conversation lists: all conversations, direct messages, team messages, and favoritedmessages.Your profile picture at top left appears in every RingCentral app menu option. RingCentral App Getting Started Guide 15Profile pictureWhen you select your profile picture, the app will navigate to the interface that contains the followingoptions: Profile: Your profile appears at the top of the app with your name, email address, and profile picture.Tap your profile picture and choose to view the picture, take a new picture, or select a new picturefrom your mobile image galleryPresence: Your current RingCentral app presence appears below your name and email address. Tapon your current presence and make a new selection from a list of optionsStatus: Select Share status to share a new status. If you already have a status created, click on yourcurrent status to make changesAccept queue calls: Only available to admins, tap the Accept queue calls toggle to enable or disablethis optionNotifications: Tap Notifications to enable or disable mobile and email notifications for missed calls,voicemails, faxes, and textsMessage: Tap Message to select your preferred shortcut for sending a message and to enable ordisable link previews and flags to show hints and visual cues in conversations with guests outsideyour companyVideo: Tap Video to configure settings related to the video meetings featurePhone: Tap Phone to configure settings related to placing or receiving calls. RingCentral App Getting Started Guide 19Using RingCentral VideoStarting a meetingTo start a meeting in RingCentral mobile app, follow these steps:1.Navigate to Video via the bottom menu bar2.Tap the Start button in the upper left corner3.Invite participants by entering names or email addresses in the To field4.Tap Meet Now in the top right cornerDepending on the video service you chose when you configured your Video settings, you will have slightlydifferent options for selecting your audio sources from which you’d like to start your meeting.If you’re using RingCentral Video to start a meeting, visit Configure Video Settings for RingCentral Video inRingCentral Mobile App.If you’re using RingCentral Meetings to start a meeting, visit Configure Video Settings for RingCentralMeetings in RingCentral Mobile App.Scheduling a meetingTo schedule a meeting in the mobile app, follow these steps:1.Navigate to Video via the bottom menu bar2.Tap the Schedule button at the top3.Make changes to the meeting title (optional)4.Tap Date to choose a date in the calendar modal window5.Set the Start time and End time6.Configure additional settings as needed7.Tap the arrow icon at top right8.Select the calendar to which you want to save the meeting. This opens the meeting invite in theselected calendar9.Add the people you’d like to invite to the meeting10. Add a meeting description (optional)11. The dial pad allows you to make callsto other users in the RingCentral app or external numbers so long as telephony has been enabled at thecompany account.1.Navigate to Phone via the bottom menu bar2.Tap the green dial pad icon in the bottom right-hand corner3.Enter a number in the dial pad and dial the numberYou can also change your outbound Caller ID before starting your call. Tap the From dropdown menu toselect from the list of available Caller IDs. When you have an incoming call, apop-up window will appear, from which you can select from thefollowing options: Answer: Tap the green answer button to answer theincoming call To voicemail: Tap the red voicemail button if you want tosend the caller to your voicemail to leave a message Reply with voice message: Tap the Reply with VoiceMessage button if you want to message the caller with apreset or custom messageYou can also manage multiple incoming calls at once, such aswhen you’re on a call and you receive another incoming call.
