T13/1410D revision 3aANSI NCITS.***-xxxxAmerican National Standardfor Information Systems AT Attachmentwith Packet Interface - 6 (ATA/ATAPI-6)SecretariatInformation Technology Industry CouncilApproved mm dd yyAmerican National Standards Institute, Inc.AbstractThis standard specifies the AT Attachment Interface between host systems and storage devices. It provides acommon attachment interface for systems manufacturers, system integrators, software suppliers, and suppliersof intelligent storage devices. It includes the Packet Command feature set implemented by devices commonlyknown as ATAPI devices. This standard maintains a high degree of compatibility with the AT Attachment Interface with Packet Interface –5 (ATA/ATAPI-5), NCITS 340-2000, and while providing additional functions, is not intended to require changesto presently installed devices or existing software.
T13/1410D revision 3aAmericanNationalStandardApproval of an American National Standard requires verification by ANSI that therequirements for due process, consensus, and other criteria for approval have beenmet by the standards developer.
