BSEPH08Decommission plumbing and heating systemsPerformance criteriaYou must be able to:1. verify that the job information and documentation are current andrelevant and that the plant, instruments, access equipment and toolsare fit for purpose2. confirm before work starts that the work location and work area canbe accessed safely and has been checked for the risk to otherpersonnel on the site, and take appropriate action if a risk is present3. decommission appliances, components and accessories inaccordance with industry practices and organisational procedures4. ensure that the plumbing and heating system cannot be accidentlyreactivated or become dangerous5. produce a risk assessment and method statement for the work tobe carried out, including the identification and use of personal protectiveequipment, in accordance with the working environment comply withindustry practices and organisational procedures to ensure the coordination of site services and system supply and the activities of othertrades6.confirm with the relevant people: those necessary variations to the planned programme of work the actions to be taken to ensure that any variations to theplanned programme of work will minimise the potential for hazardand risk7. implement organisational procedures for the safe transport and/ordisposal of waste material, substances and liquids in accordance withsuppliers' and manufacturers' instructions8. complete relevant documentation in accordance with organisationalproceduresBSEPH08Decommission plumbing and heating systems2
