Post Graduate Programme inManagement (PGP-BA) 2020-2022Post Graduate Programme in Management –Business Analytics (PGP-BA) is a newly launchedfull time MBA programme at IIM Bangalore. Thestudents of this course will be given inputs in variousmanagement disciplines, besides an in-depthunderstanding of analytics. They will learn to solveproblems from different industries such as bankingand finance, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, IT etcusing artificial intelligence and its components suchas machine learning, statistical learning and deeplearning. The commencement of this specialized MBAin Business Analytics is also in tune with industryneeds where we’ve seen an increasing demand forbusiness managers with a thorough knowledge ofArtificial Intelligence and Data Science. At the endof the first year, students will undergo a two monthsummer internship in an Analytics oriented role. This,combined with the focussed and comprehensive twoyear curriculum will make them excellent choices forcompanies looking for managerial talent in the field ofArtificial Intelligence. Summer Internship Recruitment Process atIIM BangaloreThe Post Graduate Programme (PGP) curriculum at IIMBangalore requires all students to undertake a summerproject for a minimum duration of 8 weeks on completingtheir first year course work. Students with more than 34months of prior work experience have the option of optingout of the Summer Internship Placement Process (SIPP) byformally signing out of the process. Successful completionof the Summer Internship is an essential requirement forgraduation from the PGP Programme at IIM Bangalore.The Summer Internship recruitment process at the Instituteis coordinated by Career Development Services Officealong with a Student Placement Committee. The Instituteprovides all support in terms of infrastructure and facilitiesneeded for the recruitment process. Pre-Placement Talks (PPTs)PPTs provide an opportunity to students and companies tointeract and exchange information. A PPT is typically of 45minutes duration during which company representativestalk about their organization. The students use this timeto assess the organization and internship opportunities. AQ&A session also forms part of the PPT. Students ApplicationsBased on the company presentation and their individualinterest levels, students apply to companies. These canbe on company application forms or resumes as percompany requirements. The applications are forwarded tothe company within a specified time frame. The companiesare provided sufficient time to evaluate the applicationsand shortlist suitable candidates. ShortlistsCompanies are required to send shortlists to the PlacementCommittee at least one week prior to the commencementof Summer Internship Placement Interviews. Whenthe companies visit the campus, they can interview theshortlisted candidates and extend internship offers toselected ones. Interview and Offer LettersCompanies can make summer internship offers after theinterviews. A formal offer letter must be sent to the CDSoffice within a week of the interview date.3

Summer Internship DatesSummer Internship recruitment dates- 7th December 2020 to 12th December 2020. For the academic year2020-2022 the students will be interning with companies between 1st April 2021 to 31st May 2021 for aminimum duration of 8 weeks. Summer Internship Evaluation Report (SIER)Since the internship is a part of PGP Curriculum the company is required to provide student evaluationand feedback on a prescribed form provided by IIMB. Completed form should reach the CDS office by theprescribed deadline. Student Career Support FeeWe encourage organizations to make Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) to the student at the end of SummerInternship process. As per IIMB Placement Policy all PPOs remain valid till the respective company’s slotduring Lateral/Final Placement.
