EVALUATION CRITERIA AND ASSESSMENTS In every semester, there is a mid-term exam and a semester exam. All exams in the first year are application oriented and have objectivetype question papers to test the analytical ability of students. Every subject portion is divided into two parts. The mid-term exam isbased on a few initial chapters and the semester exam is based on theremaining chapters. Both mid-term as well as semester exams are out of 50 marks. However, amid-term assignment carries about 20% weightage and a semester examcarries 80% weightage. To clear a subject, a student has to secureminimum 50% marks which is a total weightage percentage of both exams. Mid-term exams can be given from any place through the on-line modeon specified days. For giving online mid-term exams, students shouldensure continuous power supply, internet connectivity and standardsoftware availability on the computer. In case of power failures or internetconnectivity problem, students can make a request for rescheduling anypaper. However, such facility is extended only once for any subject, where paper is not submitted. For final semester exams, students are required to appear for onlineexams from the testing centers selected by the Institute. These centersare located in major metro cities/towns as well as in a few suburbs ofMumbai. Further information about the centers can be obtained from theoffice of the Institute. Students have to book their examination slots inadvance from our website during the stipulated time period.Though there are many exam test centers outside Mumbai, theavailability of these centers for each end semester exam depends on theconcentration of students appearing from that location. Hence, prior toeach end semester exam, students are required to check the website foravailability of a particular test center. The exam centers will be closed one day in a week depending upon thelocation. For centers outside Mumbai, the center may be closed on Sunday.Experiential Learning MethodologyAs part of First year’s Curriculum the Experiential Learning Methodology isa compulsory subject for students residing in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai andThane region. Students go through a 2 day soft skills development program. They are involved in various activities designed to guide through the processof identifying areas of weakness and applying the solutions significantly andpositively to impact their performance back on their job. On completion ofthe module the student selects a soft skill parameter like, Out of the boxthinking, Leadership, Team work etc. Within one month (on a pre-decideddate), he comes to the institute and gives a presentation about how heapplied these learnings in his own areas.Students will be marked out of 100 marks for both the presentation and theparticipation at the practical session.Project ReportDuring the fourth semester, each student is required to submit a projectreport on any one of the topics from the list given by the Institute. Thestudent is required to prepare the report and submit it as per the guidelinesgiven by the Institute. The project is out of 200 marks and submission of theproject report is compulsory for successful completion of the Program.Others Students have to clear at least 8 papers from the 1st year before they canproceed to the 2nd year.
