Please register early so that we know ofyour interest. Registering on the day of the programis most often too late, so please do not wait!PLEASE NOTE: E-Mail blasts are sent out via an E-Alertnotification system. Phone calls will not be maderegarding weather related changes or cancelations.Cancelation PolicyPrograms held at the Newtown Schools follow theschool schedule. As such, if schools are closed orcanceled then Parks & Recreation programs takingplace at the schools will be canceled. Programs heldat the Newtown Teen Center, Newtown YouthAcademy or an offsite location do not always followthe school schedule. In the event of inclement weatheror other factors beyond our control, programs mayneed to be canceled. In most cases, make-up sessionswill be offered. If you cannot attend the makeup session no refundswill be given! Please sign up for our Recreation E-Alerts on ourwebsite www.newtown-ct.gov.Refund PolicyAll programs are self-supporting and a commitmentneeds to be made to instructors and staff. As such, NOREFUNDS will be given after the start of a programEXCEPT for medical reasons, upon receipt of aphysician’s note. A physician’s note should be providedto Parks and Recreation at the time of the incident andwill not be accepted after the program is completed.Communication with Parks and Recreation at onset ofthe condition is required.Other refunds for cancelations made within one weekprior to the start of a program are issued, but a 10processing fee will be charged. No refunds will be givenonce a program is complete. (NO EXCEPTIONS).PLEASE NOTE:Residency Defined A person whose primary residence, either as an owneror renter, is considered a Newtown resident.No exceptions to this rule. Proof of residency isrequired. Non-Resident PolicyNon-resident registrations will be accepted at thebeginning of registration, however there are limitedspots. Not all programs allow for non-residentparticipation. Non-residents will be required to pay anadditional 20.00 per program. This fee can varydepending on the program. Photo ReleaseNewtown Parks and Recreation Department and TheNewtown Bee may videotape or take photos ofparticipants enrolled in our programs. These photos/videos may be used for promotional purposes. All Parks and Recreation programs are on a firstcome, first-served basis.We will be following CDC guidelines for allprograms. All participants must wear a mask forindoor programs and social distance rules apply.Parks and Recreation does not sendconfirmations. No news is good news! Brushy Hill Farm is a full service equestrian facility that takes pride in its warm and welcomingenvironment. We are dedicated to providing outstanding care for both horse and rider. In addition to boarding andtraining, our lesson program caters to students of all ages from beginners to seasoned veterans. Ev Lindeborn, owner andoperator, offers her lifetime of experience and extensive knowledge of the sport. Lessons are hand-tailored for eachrider’s needs to ensure that everyone may achieve their goals and full potential. Boys and girls will learnthe fundamental skills of soccer including dribbling,passing, shooting and defending. Each session starts witha fun and exciting warm-up game, followed by activitiesand instruction on the skill of the day. Participants thenhave the opportunity to put their new skills to use in agame-related activity or scrimmage.
