ORACLE DAT A SHEETORACLE CLOUD MANAGEMENTPACK FOR ORACLE DATABASEOracle Enterprise Manager is Oracle’s integrated enterprise IT managementproduct line, and provides the industry’s first complete cloud lifecyclemanagement solution. Oracle Enterprise Manager’s Business-DrivenBusinessITManagement capabilities allow you to quickly set up, manage and supportenterprise clouds and traditional Oracle IT environments from applications todisk. Enterpriseprise Manager allows customers to achieve bestbservice levels fortraditional and cloud applications through management from a businessperspective including for Oracle Fusion Applications, provide maximum returnon IT management investment through the bestt solutions for intelligentmanagement of the Oracle stack and engineered systems and gainunmatched customer support experience through real-timerealintegration ofOracle’s knowledgebase with each customer environment.environmentTHE INDUSTRY’S ONLY COMPLETESOLUTION FOR DAT ABASE CLOUDMANAGEMENT.Cloud ManagementEnterprise Cloud presents new management challenges. The 2010 IOUG Survey onKEY FEATURES Consolidation Planning Out-of-the-box Self Service PortalCloud Computing states that a top benefit expected from private cloud adoption is “costsavings through standardization for operational efficiency.” The survey also states “Inthisis survey, more than half of the “advanced” deployers (with more than 10 services) saytheir greatest challenge is adequately provisioning server capacity to meet the new Enterprise Service Catalog Provisioning of Databases w/ DataGuard, Schemas, and PluggableDatabases Rapid Data Cloning – Snap Cloneand Full Clones with Integrated DataMaskingintegrated chargeback and capacity planning and complete visibility of the physical and Subscription based software patchingand upgradesDatabase as a Service (DBaaS) Resource ManagementOracle Cloud Management Pack for Oracle Database delivers capabilities spanning the Role-based Access and QuotaManagement Support for Virtual and PhysicalInfrastructuredemands of the cloud,.” Oracle Enterprise Manager is Oracle’s premiere cloudmanagementment solution. It is the industry’s first complete solution including self-serviceselfprovisioning balanced against centralized, policy-basedbased resource management, virtual environments from applications to disk.entire Database cloud lifecycle. It lets Cloud administrators identify pooled resources, configure role-basedbased access, define the service catalog, and the related chargebackplans. It allows Cloud users to request database services, and consume them onondemand. It also allows for users to scale-upup and down their platforms to adapt to Metering and Chargebackchanges in applicationn traffic. Finally, it lets both parties to understand the costs of the RESTful API and CLI forProgrammatic Accessservice delivered, and establish accountability for consumption of resources.

ORACLE DAT A SHEETKEY BENEFITS Reduce sprawl and improveutilization by consolidating on fewerservers Reduce DBA time by automatingdeployment of standard databaseconfigurations Reduce DBA time by automatingcloning of large databases Single console to manage entireCloud lifecycle – plan, setup, deliver, operate Prevent resource hogging by settingquotas for individual usersFigure 1. Enterprise Cloud Lifecycle Management Reduced DBA time by automatingsoftware maintenancePlanning and Setup Forecast future resource needs byanalyzing trending reports Compute chargeback based onperformance and configurationmetricsThe corner stone of cloud computing iss standardization of software and configuration. Adatabase Service Catalog is a collection of standardized database service definitionsthat will help cloud users to rapidly provision databases, while it will ensure that IT canlimit the amount of configurationration and software pollution, and thus reduce administrativeoverhead associated with it.To build a cloud, administrators must first understand what their existing resources areand their utilization. Enterprise Manager automatically discovers their infrastructureinfandits topology, and helps then understand the current workloads in the environment.Administrators can then use Consolidation Planner capability to run different scenariosfor redistributing workloads onto existing systems or new environments (what ifscenario), and determine if this will result in SLA violations. These scenarios can betested either on Commercial Off-The-ShelfShelf (COTS) hardware or engineered systemslike Exadata. The key benefit of cloud computing is to enable faster deployment of typical platforms bymoving away from admin driven provisioning to end user driven. Enterprise Managerallows administrators to pool resources, standardize and automate deploymentRELAT ED PRODUCTS Oracle Cloud Management Pack forDatabase delivers maximum benefitswhen used with the following OracleproductsOracle Diagnostics PackOracle Database LifecycleManagement Packprocesses, publish established templates to service catalog, setup role-basedroleaccessand privileges, set quotas to limit over-consumption,consumption, establish policies for scale-upscaleandscale-down,down, and retirement, and enable metering and optional chargeback onconsumed resources.Enterprise Manager supports multiple consolidation models for pooling resources. Onecan choose to consolidate underlying infrastructure with server virtualizationtechnologies or perform database level consolidation by implementing Real ApplicationClusters (RAC) or by hosting multiple application schemas withinwithi the same database, ormake use of the Database 12c Multitenant option to consolidate workloads usingpluggable databases.Self Service Application for Rapid ProvisioningrovisioningEnterprise Manager ships with an out-of-box Self-serviceservice portal that allows developers, developetesters, DBAs, and other self service users to log on and request various services. Italso provides an administrative interface for DBAs to deliver one-offoneor special requestsfor services. These services include:2 ENTER TITLE OF DOCUMENT HERE

ORACLE DAT A SHEET New single instance (SI) and Real Applicationlication Clusters (RAC) databasesusing pre-defineddefined golden standards. This is ideal for developers asking forstandard databases with or without data. New single instance (SI) and Real Application Clusters (RAC) databasesalong with data guard standby databasesbases either within the same datacenter oracross different geographical regions. This is ideal for production and semisemiproduction workloads that have high availability requirements. Logical databases to work with, which, under the hood, are schemas hosted inone or more database, and provided as Schema-asas-a-Service. Pluggable databases that are hosted in one or more Database 12c Multitenantcontainer databases provided as Pluggable Database as a Service. Database thin clones, using Enterprise Manager 12c Snap Clone feature thatleverages storage Copy-on-WriteWrite (CoW) technology on Oracle and non-Oraclenonstorage. Snap Clone lets users,, such as Functional QA, to create multiplecopies of the database in minutes without consuming additional space, takeprivate backups, ckups, and refresh data from source. Snap Clone supports cloningof databases on file and on Oracle ASM with block storage. Database full clones using RMAN Backups or RMAN duplicate. This could beideal for intense testing, such as, database upgrades and performanceptestingon Exadata. All cloning services come integrated with masking, and ability to changeconfiguration and software versions. Fleet maintenance allows administrators to patch and upgrade databasesoftware, with near zero or zero downtime. The subscription based modelenables updates at scale, and across the entire cloud ecosystem thussignificantly reducing the time required for maintenance activities.Additionally, self service users can perform lifecycle operations like start/stop, statusand health monitoring, etc on the requested databases and schemas. Provisioning canbe done on both physical infrastructure using Deployment Procedures and on an OracleVM virtualized server infrastructure using Virtual Assemblies and Virtual Templates. TheTportal provides access to a Service Catalog which lists various published servicetemplates for standardized database configuration and versions. Users can review theirpast and outstanding requests, resource quotas, current utilization as well asChargebackeback information for the databases and services they own. The portal also allowsusers to automatically backup their databases on a daily basis or take on demandbackups. User can restore the database to any of these backups. The Self-serviceSelfportal is thee user’s view into the Cloud, thus it is designed to be easy to use and yetuseful. The portal is also backed by CLI and API that can be used to request andmanage cloud resources in lieu of the user interface.3 ENTER TITLE OF DOCUMENT HERE

ORACLE DAT A SHEETFigure 2. Database Service Catalog and Self Service ApplicationPerformance and Availability MonitoringOne of the top concerns IT managers have before moving business critical applicationsto cloud is performance and reliability of the application. Enterprise Manager provides arich solution for monitoring the health of resources in the cloud. Incident console allowsadministrators to view, diagnose, and resolve incidents with the host, database or anyother dependencies with the physical or virtual infrastructure. Cloud administrationconsole and Request dashboard provides insight into resource flux, request throughput, failure rates, and available resources. Trending reports show the variance in resourceconsumption and thus allows for capacity planning for future needs.Metering and ChargebackA critical aspect of Cloud delivery is the ability to establish usage cost for consumingcloud resources, and metering actual usage to deliver Chargeback reports. EnterpriseManager provides tools for defining detailed Chargeback plans spanning differentmetrics collected for each type of resources as well as defining Cost Centers forgrouping costs across multiple developers. Chargeback plans can use not only usagebased costs, but also configuration-basedbased costs (e.g. version of the platform) or fixedcosts (e.g. flat-raterate management fee). Its extensibility features allow users to meter andcharge against any metric storage in Enterprise Manager 12c.Chargeback has rich out of the box reports. Trending reports show how charge andresource consumptionption varies over time, while Summary reports show the breakdown ofcharges or usage by different dimensions such as Cost Center or Target Type. Thesereports help consumers in understanding how their charges relate to their consumptionand also assist thee IT department with budgeting and planning activities. With BIPublisher, the reports can be made available in a variety of formats such as PDF,HTML, Word, Excel or PowerPoint.4 ENTER TITLE OF DOCUMENT HERE
