Product Detail Sheet HELIX Combat Multi-Harness Overview The Helix Combat Multi Harness (HCMH) is a fully modular tactical harness system that has been developed over several years with significant end user input and trials. The system has been specifically designed for military operational use and can be used in a wide range of missions and tasks across all environments and operational theatres. Having a single system increases safety and reduces the training burden. The HCMH system has uniquely acquired UK helicopter clearances for specialist troop emplaning & deplaning techniques as well as fulfilling mission high access requirements. Unlike other off the shelf harnesses, the HCMH fully integrates with other ‘on the man’ systems such as life jackets and plate carriers, ensuring greater comfort and safety of the end user. The HCMH is issued as a single unit item complete with log cards. This allows logistics staff to easily administer the equipment. The system is initially vacuum packed which simplifies PPE inspection prior to first use. Once the system has been opened for use, all components are stored in one purpose designed breathable bag, which optimises storage. All items are interchangeable meaning when an item is damaged, it can be replaced, and the log card updated which is much more cost effective than replacing an entire system. Key Features A fully modular system – The HCMH consists of a riggers belt which has been tested to the standards required to meet EN358. The addition of leg loops provide a sit harness that has been certified to EN12277 type C. The combination of belt, leg loops and chest harness provide a full body harness that is certified to EN361. This system allows the user to change the utility from a riggers belt to a sit harness or full body harness in less than a minute. Compatibility – The HCMH has been designed to be compatible with current ‘on the man’ in-service equipment, which ensures the comfort and safety of the end user. Plate carriers, buoyancy aids and belt worn equipment are routinely worn by end users and the HCMH has been designed with this in mind. HELIXTACTICAL.COM

Product Detail Sheet HELIX Combat Multi-Harness Riggers Belt The belt is 45mm wide and fits into standard belt loops. It is sized so that it can take molle attachments and is stiff enough to take heavier equipment such as holsters and mission specific equipment. The triple lock, corrosion resistant buckle requires three separate actions to release it which means it can’t be accidentally opened. The belt can be used with the buckle on the left or right depending on user preference. The belt is fully adjustable, and the excess material can be stowed away. The material is lightweight and has minimal volume to reduce water absorption and drying time. The outside surface of the belt uses fine velcro, allowing battle belts to be positioned on top of the belt thus minimising movement. The belt includes a lowprofile textile belay loop on the front of the belt which allows the user to connect quickly into an anchor or system using a tested belt with the full confidence that it meets high access criteria. When not in use the belay loop can be stowed away. Two gear loops are provided in the pack and extra sets are available as an optional extra. These velcro into position onto the harness in any position determined by the user. HELIXTACTICAL.COM

Product Detail Sheet HELIX Combat Multi-Harness Leg Loops The leg loops are very light and compact using a synthetic mesh to minimize their bulk and minimise moisture retention. They are one size, weigh just 260g and pack down into a pouch that is just 12 x 8 cm which can be attached to the belt for immediate and fast access. The loops are fully adjustable using the same triple lock buckles as the harness. The leg loops can be added to create a sit harness in less than 15 seconds. HELIXTACTICAL.COM

Product Detail Sheet HELIX Combat Multi-Harness Chest Harness The fully adjustable chest harness can be worn over or underneath plate carriers and is made from the same mesh fabric used on the leg loops. This minimises bulk, water absorption and drying time. The same triple lock buckle is used which maintains uniformity throughout all components. There is an integrated attachment point for the included chest ascender (rated to EN567) which is compatible with most plate carrying systems, it is optimally positioned and has a low profile. The chest harness also comes complete with a Fifi-safety hook which is optimised for flexible caving ladders (metal & material). This provides a flexible attachment point to support the load of the operator and is useful for resting, tactical pauses or situations where two free hands are required. It has been designed with end user feedback and comes with a special attachment system to ensure the gate is correctly orientated for quick use. A ‘bite piece’ system enables the hook to be attached using the mouth where the hands are otherwise engaged. The chest ascender and fifi hook can be removed by the operator depending on the task requirement. A rear securing strap (not shown) ensures the chest harness is correctly positioned and prevents the harness from being dislodged by plate carriers and daysacks. This strap is not load bearing. The chest harness connects to the sit harness using a ‘PerfectO’ screwgate, which is a compact oval carabiner. The compact design reduces the amount of metal in the system and improves operator comfort by decreasing the likelihood of interfering with body armour. HELIXTACTICAL.COM

Product Detail Sheet HELIX Combat Multi-Harness Service life and replacement The HCMH life depends on the type and frequency of use and external influences, as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). It will be inspected every 6 months by a competent person or certified PPE Inspector in line with UK Working at Height regulations. For the product to remain in service it must pass a visual and tactile inspection when considering the following criteria: fall arrest, general wear, chemical contamination, corrosion, mechanical malfunction/deformation, cracks, heat contamination (over normal climatic conditions), cut stitching, frayed tape, degradation of tape and/or thread, loose threads in tape, prolonged exposure to UV, clear and readable marking (e.g. marking, batch reference, individual serial numbers etc). Textiles. Products made of synthetic fibres (polyamide, polyester and dyneema) age to some extent even when they are not used. This depends in particular to the intensity of ultraviolet rays and the ambient climate. Once its period of use has expired, at the very latest once its maximum service life has expired the product must be withdrawn from use. Maximum service life. In perfect storage conditions and without use is 12 years from the date of manufacture. Occasional use. If used occasionally and correctly with no obvious signs of wear and in perfect storage conditions is 10 years from date of manufacture. Metal products. Service life is the life of the product. Helix are able to take returns of HCMH components once they have been retired by the customer to ensure they are recycled or permanently removed from use. To reduce logistical management burden and further enhance safe and best practices within the high access environment. Obsolescence A product may become obsolete before the end of its lifespan. Reasons for this may include changes in applicable standards, regulations, legislation, development of new techniques, incompatibility with other equipment etc. HELIXTACTICAL.COM

Product Detail Sheet HELIX Combat Multi-Harness About Us By way of background Helix evolved out of DMM International when it became apparent that there was a need for a specialist company to support Government, Police, Tactical and Rescue clients. DMM International has a global reputation as a leading manufacturer of superior height safety equipment, and has supplied various institutions with equipment since 1985. Growing demand for a broad range of complete, specialist systems where all components are selected and proven to work together led to Helix being founded on this broad wealth of expertise and experience. With a remit to bring together a portfolio of the best equipment, the resulting partnerships with the likes of REBS, CTOMS, and Atlas amongst others have allowed us to offer a complete capability for vertical access across Urban, Mountain, and Maritime environments. Helix’s mission is to provide the end user with high quality premium equipment and systems for vertical access, egress, and rescue scenarios. We understand that first class equipment is only one part of the equation, and that without a trained operator or enabler it is unlikely to be utilised to its true capacity. This is why Helix also offer training packages alongside systems and equipment. Training can be delivered through a range of options; from standard courses for the operator, maintainer, or supervisor, through to bespoke courses covering specific scenarios. These training courses are either accredited by Helix or through external validation depending on the end user requirement and course syllabus. Helix work with DMM and other reputable brands to design, manufacture and certify items to the appropriate standards. Through our close relationship with DMM we have the ability to conduct enhanced testing if requested by the end user, using our on-site test facility. HELIXTACTICAL.COM
