SUMMER @ BRIGHTON 2023 Academic Camps Keep learning while having fun Rising K– 5th Grade Academic camps are a wonderful way to enhance your child's love of learning while focusing on a specific subject. From math and robotics to literature and creative writing, we have something for every student. Campers work independently and in small groups to apply real-life experiences to lessons learned in the classroom. Kindergarten Prep Give your child a jump-start to kindergarten by enrolling in our Kindergarten Enrichment program. We work on sharpening literacy and math skills, while also providing opportunities for your child to practice kindergarten etiquette through authentic play and collaborative learning. Students have a blast engaging in inquiry-based, hands-on activities that build upon foundational skills, such as science and engineering. Whatever your child's interests are, we have fun and unique activities for them to try! Traveling Artist Survey the history of art by carving totem poles in the Pacific Northwest, crafting Aztec masks in the heart of Mexico and experimenting with the artistic traditions of the world. In this program, campers take creative thinking and cultural awareness head-on as they examine the STEM processes that make art possible. Ages: Rising K – 1st Week: June 19 - 23 Price: 330 Jedi Training Academy Long long ago in a camp far away, Ms. Michelle fought the Republic and now needs your help! (You're our only hope!) We will make and train with light sabers just like real Jedi. We will also create our own Star Wars crafts as well as read many awesome stories. We will play with (Star Wars) Legos, Galaxy Slime, Light saber bubble wands and even build our own droids. Ages: Rising 1st – 4th Week: July 10 - 14 Price: 370 Art of Math Art and Math? Who would have thought? In this camp we will explore concepts of mathematics that can be used to create art. We will also learn about artists like Piet Mondrian and Paul Klee who use math to create art. In this hands-on coding and tech club, you’ll learn the skills of a coder and the mindset of an entrepreneur through building apps Ages: Rising 2nd – 4th Week: July 24 - 28 Price: 370 Pirates Campers work together engaging in STEM-focused experiments, handson design trials, and engaging group discussions. Tasks included forging catapults, tying knots and fashioning maps to hidden treasure! Ages: Rising 2nd – 4th Week: August 7 - 11 Price: 330 Air- and Water-Powered Rocketry In the Air- and Water-Powered Rocketry course, campers can design games and participate in simulated, straw-projectile war, or create model water-delivery rockets that fight fires and conduct experiments on asteroid gravity wells. During this week, Mr. D.C. will be teaching your kids a dance to a Broadway and/or Disney tune while also helping them play theatre games that will help with their improv skills. At the end of each session, your students will perform this dance and an improv game (or two) during a performance showcase that'll be recorded and/or streamed for you all to see. Ages: Rising 3rd – 5th Week: August 21 - 24 Price: 330 Lil' Eagles A week dedicated to helping prepare our new to Brighton preschool and prekindergarten students! SUMMER @ BRIGHTON 2023 Sports Camps Learn skills and gain confidence Rising K – 5th Grade Our rigorous sports camp promotes skill building, exposes children to new activities, and helps build healthy exercise habits. We bring sports specialists from around the area to help each camper improve, practice, and play each sport. Goal Getter Coach Logan, uses a positive and passionate coaching technique to help campers with ball control, passing, positioning, stamina, dribbling, shooting, and attitude. Campers will receive a soccer ball at the end of the week. Ages: Rising 2nd – 4th Week: June 26 - 30 Price: 330 Tiny Tumbling Over the week, Tiny Tumblers will spend time learning to jump, tumble, and some beginner cheerleading! Little athletes will learn the basics of tumbling and get chances to practice those moves everyday.
