Thompkins/Tompkins 35th Family Reunion Washington, DC July 20-22, 2018 Family Roots and Love Greetings Family, Welcome to the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia area, nicknamed DMV! DMV is derived from DC, MD and VA as we are located minutes away. The 2018 Thompkins/Tompkins family reunion committee is very pleased to announce the details of the Washington, DC reunion. Our reunion will be held July 20-22, 2018. We have noticed that our family has grown, so this is our attempt to get everyone together, share our history, and create new memories. Diane Thompkins, Family Historian, is requesting all family members donate an item to the museum. This will ensure that all families be represented in our family museum. We are honored to host the Thompkins/Tompkins 35th family reunion and hope to see you there. We’ve planned a weekend of activities and entertainment that all will enjoy. We have limited the activities for the family so that each day everyone can enjoy some free time to spend touring the sights in DC and/or enjoy the free local activities within walking distance of the hotel. People come from around the world to visit the Nation’s Capital. The DMV, has many interesting and interactive places to visit including Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, National Air & Space Museum, Smithsonian, China Town, Veteran Memorials, Washington Monument, National Zoo, the NEW Bible Museum, the NEW National Museum of African American History and Culture and many more. Most museums are free however some require tickets. The National Mall can be easily accessed via Metro to downtown Washington, DC

For out of town family members traveling early to enjoy the area before the start of the reunion, or plan to stay after the reunion, please contact Reggie Wright, as we’re trying to obtain passes to the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which are very limited. They are timed entry passes. We highly recommend each family member go to the website www.nmaahc.si.edu for free timed entry passes prior to your arrival. Tickets should be available the first of the year, and will go very quickly. Visit the website for additional information.
