The speakers are run directly to the media location and are terminated on a “Surround Sound Connection Center Wall Plate” for direct connection to the homeowner supplied surround sound equipment. Included is our Surround Sound Connection Kit with hook-up instructions. Note: A JWE technician will determine proper audio positioning of speakers within your Family Room. Shea Homes - Canterbury Lane sw Plan 1 5.1 In-ceiling Surround Sound Prewire Package PANTRY Pre-wire DINING S AREA Designed to support the most recent Dolby 5.1 standards, this surround sound prewire package provides a discrete and economical solution for those interested in setting up a surround sound audio system at some future date. S Pre-wire Pre-wire FAMILY ROOM/ LIVING ROOM S Pre-wire ENTRY S Pre-wire This “prewire only” package does not include speakers, but does include a 16/2 stranded speaker cable run directly from your media niche (or specified surround sound connection center) to each of five in-ceiling surround sound future speaker locations. WH STORAGE AREA After the framing of your home is complete JWE will attach a prewire bracket to the ceiling joist assembly at each of your future in-ceiling speaker locations. When you move in to your home, all you will see on the ceiling are circular plastic caps that unscrew to access the speaker cables. At your media niche or surround sound connection center you will see a blank plate secured by either 2 or 4 screws that can be removed to access the other end of each speaker cable. While it really is that simple to access your speaker cables, you should be aware that the speaker installation may still be tricky. We strongly recommend that this work be performed by an audio professional. Please note that neither JWE nor your builder is responsible for your speaker installation or the possible required repair of drywall resulting from the installation process. The circular plastic caps on your ceiling are for wire access only and must be removed when placing speakers. The prewire bracket and plastic cap assembly is not structurally designed to support weight. Do not attach to or hang speakers from this assembly!
