Qualifications Needed to Run for CISDTrustee A U.S. Citizen 18-years-old at the start date of the Term of Service A resident of the district for 6 months before the filingdate deadline A resident of the state of Texas for 12 months before thefiling deadlineSee Texas Election Code 141.001 and CISD BBA Policy (LOCAL)

Time Commitment as a Trustee A new Trustee is required by law to have 10 hours of schoolboard training their first year and 5 hours of training everyyear following. Other commitments are as follows: Monthly Board Meetings (including prep time) Team of Eight Training Workshops/Special Meetings Spring/Summer Budget Workshops State Convention Summer Leadership Training Committee Meetings Campus Invitations

Roles & ResponsibilitiesLeadership TeamThe Board“The trustees as a body corporate have the exclusive powerand duty to govern and oversee the management of thepublic schools of the district.” Tex.
