2022 Physical Therapy Salary Guide Career insights for Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants ELITELEARNING.COM

Dear physical therapy professional, Like many of you, the team at Elite Learning entered 2021 with a few specific goals. At the top of our list? Getting to know our customers better. And so we started gathering data from our customers through a survey. It covered typical state-of-the-profession topics, like current salaries, job satisfaction, and employee benefits, but we didn’t want to stop there. Your career goals are important to us, and we wanted to understand what you’re passionate about. To that end, we also asked about our customer’s plans for continuing their education. Was there interest in pursuing additional certifications, or were customers happy where they were? What topics of study held the most value for physical therapy professionals? Was continuing education a long-term goal, or were they actively working toward additional certifications? The next few pages summarize their answers. We hope this report provides a valuable glimpse into potential career opportunities — and that it arms you with the information you need to facilitate productive conversations with managers and supervisors in 2022 and beyond. All the best, Jennifer Mensik Kennedy, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN Head of Healthcare Learning Colibri Group 2022 Physical Therapist Salary Guide 2

Tips for Effective Conversations With Your Supervisor Broaching difficult topics with your manager or supervisor doesn’t have to be stressful. Whether you’re discussing salary increases, scheduling issues, or other topics of concern, here are some tips for holding productive conversations with your boss. Set clear goals. Ask yourself beforehand: What do I hope to accomplish with this meeting? Make sure your supervisor knows why you want to speak with them. When both parties are clear about the goals of the meeting, communication becomes that much smoother. Maintain a positive mindset. It’s easy to focus on the negative, but allow yourself to consider: What happens if they say yes? Be direct and confident in your request. Don’t forget: You are the most valuable part of the profession, and your work makes a difference! 2022 Physical Therapist Salary Guide 10
