KIP RBAC User Guide1. IntroductionKIP System K Role Based Access Controls enables a new level of KIP print system management using rulebased role assignment for advanced control. RBAC provides a smarter way to apply rules for specific useraccessibility to copy, print and scan features assigned by the system administrator.1. Easily create user accountability and conveniently communicate printing environment modifications.2. Collect powerful data to effectively analyze print system behaviors to optimize rules for streamlining printenvironment efficiency and security.3. Apply printing rules to create a smarter printing environment. Customize conditions to conserve energy andsupplies (Example: set restrictions on color printing for specific users).KIP Accounting Center Role Based Access Control is integrated within the KIP Smart Multi-Touchscreen, KIPPrintPro and KIP PrintPro.NET.Beginning with the 1.4 released version of KIP System K Software the KIP Accounting Center has new RoleBased Access Control (RBAC) functionality. To add a new Role for Black andWhite functions only, select the RolesTab at the top of the screen.4. Click New.5. Create a name for the new Role.Then tab over and double click toview options.6. Click the “Select None” button to clearthe selected data.7. Select the appropriate features thatwill be associated with this new Role.8. Role Based Access Control – Roles DefinedThere are 21 Roles which can be configured and 4 pre-defined roles; “Service”, “Administrator”, “User” and “Anonymous”.These pre-defined roles have fixed assignments of features which cannot be changed by the users.Each of the 21 Roles that can be assigned to a particular user is explained in greater detail on the followingpages.PLEASE NOTE: When using Role Based Access Control it is necessary for "Allow anonymous use" to be unselectedforcing users to log in to the KIP System.No part of this publication may be copied, reproduced or distributed in any form without express written permission from KIP. 2019 KIP.
