Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,This week we begin to enter into Holy Week, the essence, of our faith. It is the summitof God’s unconditional love for sinful humanity and the ultimate sacrifice of the Son ofGod for our eternal salvation.Holy Week begins with the commemoration of the Last Supper on Holy Thursday, the crucifixion ofJesus Christ on Good Friday, and His resurrection on Saturday at the Easter Vigil. This commemorationof the Triduum is so rich in symbols which signify the profound mysteries of God’s salvific plan for us.As we commemorate the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ during Holy Week,we are called to join our own crosses with Jesus’ cross in order to offer to God the Father a sacrifice forour own sins and the sins of others. We don’t have to look for the crosses, they have already been in ourlives, whether they are physical, mental, or moral. For this reason, Jesus said: “Take up your cross andfollow me, for I am the way, the truth, and the life”. If we join our crosses to his, He will show us the wayto use our crosses for the sake of our souls and the souls of others. He will help us to understand and toaccept the truth about suffering for the love of God and our neighbor. My brothers and sisters, let us make time for Jesus during this Holy Week. Let us come to experienceJesus’ unconditional love for us and his infinite mercy in our lives. Let us come to feel the physical, psychological, and moral pains that Jesus had to endure. Let us come to receive salvation offered by Jesuson the cross so that we may live and live forever. Fr. Joe Pham.Have a prayerful and blessed Holy Week.“Be compassionate as your heavenly Father iscompassionate” (Luke 6:36).As we have been through the hardship of the current pandemic, I believe that it has had a great financial impact upon every one of us.However, as Christians, we are called to be compassionate like ourFather in heaven, that is, to reach out and share the burdens of those who are less fortune than us. For this reason, I am earnestly appealing to each one of you for your generous gifts to the House of Charity. Yoursacrificial gifts during this challenging time would be so meaningful and essential to these compassionateministries in our Diocese:-Care and Education of Seminarians-Care of Elderly Priests-Social & Community Services-Compassionate Outreach-Catholic Education-Youth and Campus Ministry-Vitality Catholic Healthcare ServicesAs the theme for this year’s House of Charity is “Faces of Hope”, let us embrace this theme by sacrificing ourfinancial means to support the above ministries since so many people are putting their “Faces of Hope” inthem. Please make a check payable to “House of Charity-Bishop Annual Appeal”. You may drop it in the collection basket at any weekend Mass or mail it to the rectory. My profound gratitude is extended to all of youfor your sacrifices and your willingness to support this noble cause. Fr. Joe Pham.Parish Goal - 136,900.00Received - 161 gifts - 72,174.005

How does ourfaith inspire us to care for them and share the giftsthat God has bestowed on us? While interacting with hospice chaplains of other religious isnot a problem, when it comes to the administrationof the Sacraments, you deserve to see a Catholicpriest! If you are ever unsure, ask the minister if heis a Catholic priest. Ambiguously-named groupslike the Old Catholic Church, the Polish NationalCatholic Church, and others, are not the samething as the Catholic Church. It's been almost a year and we are still in the midst of the pandemic however we are committed to being therefor our clients. Like Thanksgiving and Christmas we find ourselves planning our Easter Food Basket driveCOVID style. The Easter baskets will be distributed on Palm Sunday, March 28th at St. John Vianney. Asalways we are collecting all types of non perishables, canned yams, canned veggies, canned fruit, mac andcheese, pasta and sauce, cereal, pancake mix & syrup, tuna, peanut butter & jelly, granola bars, etc. We arealso collecting Hams.Hams are a special need and should be dropped off at either church no later than 10:00am on March28. They may also be dropped off at St. John Vianney between 11:00am & 12:30pm on Saturday March27. Unfortunately due to social distancing rules we are unable to have volunteers help with the basket distribution but we could use your prayers for a successful food collection and nice weather! Thank you in advancefor your kindness and generosity and your willingness to help those less fortunate!*Please do NOT just leave your ham in the back of the church or outside the church doors! Every yearultimately, someone leaves their ham or turkey outside by the church doors or with the food pantryitems and it is found afterward.GLOUCE

Infant mortality is the death of a child within the first year of life. Worldwide, infant mortality continues to decrease, and in the past 10 years, rates in the United States have fallen by 15% (CDC). The infant mortali-ty rate is the number of infant deaths for every 1,000 live births. In 2017, the total number of infant deaths
