Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,As we enter into the most joyful and hopeful Season, the Season of Advent, we are reminded that theword Advent means “coming or waiting”. During the Season of Advent, we are waiting for the coming celebration of the Birth of Christ, our creator and redeemer. More than two thousand years ago, the Israelite peoplewere longing and waiting for the Messiah to be born and come to save them. However, today Jesus, the Messiah, islonging and waiting for us to come to Him. Therefore, Advent is not a time that we wait or long for Jesus to come; butrather it is a time for us to prepare ourselves to go home with Him. This is a time to turn around if we are going astray. This is a time to let go our resentment, anger, and hatred. This is a time to be reconciled and to be at peace with others. This is a time to open our arms to those in need. This is a time to care for others’ feelings and longings. This is a timeto go back to church by attending Sunday Masses. This is a time to recognize that, without God, we would never havepeace in our hearts, never be fulfilled. This is a time to be found and not to be lost by following the Star which willlead us to the manger where the Infant Jesus is longing and waiting for us.- Fr.
