TestimonialsTestimonials“To study philosophy is to mentally challenge yourself; it is to satisfy a mental craving you did not knowyou had until the first time you attend a philosophy class. It is training your mind to consider the mostfundamental questions about who you are as an individual, who we are as a society, and our place in theworld. It touches on every subject you could possibly think of. Through the study of philosophy, I was ableto explore concepts like knowledge, morality, reality, the meaning of life, consciousness, religion, politics, and art - to only name a few! I made the decision to pursue the study of philosophy because I was lookingfor answers. But what I found was much more rewarding; I learnt how to think clearly, how to spot badreasoning, and most importantly, how to avoid it. Instead of giving me specific answers, philosophy taughtme how to ask my questions well, and how I might begin to develop responses. Studying philosophy hasallowed me to understand myself on a much deeper level. It has provided me with the most fundamentalskills for life and pushed me to think far beyond the limits of standard knowledge. My philosophy educationinforms everything I do; it shapes my personal system of ethics, how I evaluate the actions and beliefs ofothers around me, and how I understand the world I find myself in.” Sherifa Hisham’ 19“The philosophy MA programwill challenge your wholeperspective about life.”Sherif Salem ’17“The philosophy graduate program has provided mewith a wide array of courses that allow me to stretchmy scope of interest. The professors exhibit the highestlevel of scholarship and care for their students.”Heba Youssef ’07 ’09 ’16“The Master of Arts in philosophy is intellectually stimulating. It prepares professionals for careers incommunication, marketing, economic development, management, public administration, and of course, education. I have had an immensely satisfying career in project management, leadership and internationalcooperation, and it was my undergraduate study degree in philosophy that got me through the door.”Marwa Adel ’03 ’1610
