My family and I have beenmembers of St. Anne’s for over 7 years. St. Anne has made itvery easy for our family to participate in different ministriessupporting our church and greater community. I became partof the Cross Bearer Ministry to be more involved in our liturgy. It has been a very simple and rewarding way to participatein the Mass.Cross bearer ministry consists of carrying the cross during themass’ procession and recession. The cross is tall requiring asteady and slow stride entering and exiting the church. Twoyears ago I became coordinator of the Cross Bearer Ministryand want to thank last year’s ministers for their service andwelcome the new members of this ministry. With 17 current cross bearers, this ministry’s obligation isabout 2 masses over a 3 month period. If you are interestedin the rewards of participating in the mass as a cross bearer, please contact our Parish Office at 942-8300, or send an email to gwilling@saint-anne.org.In Memory of our Parishioner,LaVon Wickersheim who enteredeternal life on February 8.Career Coaching MeetingPractical, proven approaches to help you get hired into that“right job”.(Isn’t it time that you got the job that you really want!)The next Career Coaching meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 8, 2012. In preparation of March 11The Third Sunday of LentThis Week at St. AnneWe are presenting the readings and reflection questions for the following weekso that we can prepare in advance.Monday, March 5GospelJN 2:13-25Since the Passover of the Jews was near, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. He foundin the temple area those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, as well as the moneychangers seated there. He made a whip out of cords and drove them all out ofthe temple area, with the sheep and oxen, and spilled the coins of the moneychangers and overturned their tables, and to those who sold doves he said,"Take these out of here, and stop making my Father's house a marketplace." Hisdisciples recalled the words of Scripture, Zeal for your house will consume me. Atthis the Jews answered and said to him, "What sign can you show us for doingthis?" Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple and in three days Iwill raise it up."The Jews said, "This temple has been under construction for forty-six years, andyou will raise it up in three days?" But he was speaking about the temple of hisbody. Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his disciples rememberedthat he had said this, and they came to believe the Scripture and the word Jesushad spoken. While he was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, many began to believe inhis name when they saw the signs he was doing. But Jesus would not trust himselfto them because he knew them all, and did not need anyone to testify abouthuman nature. He himself understood it well.Tuesday, March 6Theme: He threw them out.8 a.m. Mass St. Anne10 a.m. Liturgy of The Word withCommunion Clare Bridge10:15 a.m. Mass Wynwood7 p.m. CYO ConcertAdults: What does the temple event teach me about resurrection?Children:: Was it okay for Jesus to be so angry when he arrived at the Temple inJerusalem? How are You Spending Your Tax Return orBonus This Year?Lenten Evening and Morning of Reflection withBishop Donald Hying at St. Mary Catholic ChurchEach year at this time, we begin toanticipate that tax return, whichmight be coming our way. Someindividuals are even blessed to beemployed by a company that maydistribute bonuses or stock options. The questions always remain: Howwill I spend this extra money? Do Ispend it on a much needed vacationfor our family? Or do I get a jumpstart on that home-improvementproject? Or maybe you’re thinking ofgetting caught up in some bills. Nomatter what you’re thinking about, please consider designating aportion of this money to the St. AnneFlowers of the Field CapitalCampaign. Here are some nuggets to think about:Flowers of the Field Goal: 350,000Pledge forms submitted: 129Current Pledges: 177,555Pledges needed: 172,445Months remaining of campaign: 17Scenarios for you consider:If just 34 families each pledged 5000 ORIf just 57 families each pledged 3000 ORIf just 172 families each pledged 1000, ( 1.96/day) ORIf 246 families each pledged 700 ( 1.38/day) St. Anne would achieve its goal in any one of thesescenarios!Other points to ponder:Grande Starbuck’s latte is approximately: 3.50Consider a daily pledge of 3.50, which would translateto a 1785.00 total pledgeA Happy Meal from McDonalds is approximately: 3.30Three children at two happy meals per week equals 80per month. Consider a monthly pledge of 80 permonth, which would translate to a 1360 total pledgeOrdering out pizza for family of five costs about 30.Consider designating 60 (two nights of pizza) per monthto the campaign, which would translate to 1020pledge.Pray. Plan. Pledge. The Flowers of the Field Campaign team thanks you for yourconsideration. How is Lent Relevant in Our Modern Day High-TechWorld?Wednesday, March 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. or Thursday, March 8,beginning with 8 a.m. Mass followed by his talk from 9 to 11a.m.Some questions he will address are: How do we make Lent real?
