Installing Oracle 11g R2 on a 32-bit Operating SystemIn order to use the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) reporting tool youmust first have Oracle installed and configured on your computer.To install Oracle, do the following:1) Verify that your Operating System is 32-bit by going to My Computer, SystemProperties2) Navigate to the \\techsupport\Software\Public\Oracle 11g R2 Client\32-bit\clientfolder.Information Technology SystemsMarch, 2012
3) The folder will contain a “setup.exe” file. Double-click that file4) If you see the following warning, click Yes. If you do not, skip to step 5 of thishandout.5) A command window will appear on your screen, do not click anywhere in thiswindow. 6)When the previous window disappears, you will see the Oracle Client Installerwindow. Select “Custom” as the installation type. Click Next.7) Verify that “English” has defaulted under Selected Languages and click Next.Information Technology SystemsMarch, 2012
8) Verify that you are installing the program in the following path and click Next:C:\app\username\product\11.2.0\client 19) Check “SQL*Plus” and click Next.Information Technology SystemsMarch, 2012
10) Next the install will perform prerequisite checking:11) If you receive a Failed Physical Memory error and/or a Failed Free Space error,check the “Ignore All” checkbox in the upper right corner and click Next.Information Technology SystemsMarch, 2012

14) Once installation is complete click Close.You have now successfully installed Oracle on your machine. There is however onemore step that you need to complete.
