EXAM OVERVIEWCambridge Safety is a Nebosh Gold Learning Partner number 389 and is accredited to teach a variety ofNebosh qualifications including General Certificate and National Diploma. QUALIFICATION OVERVIEWNebosh General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health 2020 SyllabusThis qualification consists of eleven course elements, four covering the management of health and safetyand seven covering specific workplace hazards and risks.The four management elements are assessed by one new style open book examination (NG1) accessedonline at home, and the more practical hazards and risks are assessed via a comprehensive workplacerisk assessment report (NG2).Both exam and risk assessment have to be passed in a five year period to achieve the qualification.We recommend allowing approximately 100 hours of study time.If you have taken the 2014 version of the General Certificate and have already taken one or more assessments - contact us as you will still be able to take the remaining exams in 2020 and 2021. QUALIFICATION OVERVIEWNebosh National Diploma in Occupational Health & SafetyThe course is structured around four units: Managing Health & Safety (Unit A) - One three hour examination Hazardous Agents in the Workplace (Unit B) - One three hour examination The Workplace and Work Equipment (Unit C) - One three hour examination Workplace Based Assignment (Unit DNI) - This can be submitted in February, May, August or November of each yearDNI assignmentThe DNI is a significant piece of work to demonstrate your work as a H&S practitioner, it is be submittedwhen you have taken all three diploma examinations. The report must contain evidence of research &reading beyond your course notes.The report may be up to 12,000 words but there is no maximum word count apart from the executive summary which must be on just one sheet of A4 paper. Nebosh suggest 8,000 words but past experienceshows this may not be enough to enable all key issues to be covered in sufficient depth. However it is important that the report is not excessively wordy and therefore does not focus on the specific issues required.As there is no word count limit you may place any material which you have actually completed in to thereport, i.e. sample risk assessment forms, questionnaires etc. You should put any non original materialthat you have referred to in the appendix, i.e. copy of an extract of a company procedure. However onlyput into the appendix information that you actually refer to in the report and that which adds to the understanding of the report.
