February 2021GREENANDGOLDFebruaryUpcoming DatesPrincipal MessageFeb. 1—No SchoolFeb. 2—Second SemesterFeb. 17—No schoolFeb. 26—No SchoolThe most important thing a Senior High School student can do to ensuresuccess is to have regular attendance in every one of his/her classes. Thereare activities and discussions which occur in classes that simply cannot bereplicated, there is instruction on high level topics that is never the same asgetting the notes from a friend and there are curriculum objectives that canonly be achieved through participation. Missing 10% or more of school forany reason – excuse, unexcused, etc. is an indication that a student is academically at risk due to missing too much school. Students who attendschool regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than studentswho do not have regular attendance. This relationship between attendanceand achievement may appear early in a child's school career. Our attendance policy is that we require a phone call or e-mail from a parent/guardianto excuse a student for any reason, whether it be for an entire or partialschool day or for one Period of class. Please help us by communicating astudent’s absence, or an excused late arrival to school.Jeff Clow
