RESEARCH REPORTAn Annotated Guide to Graduate Educationin Environmentally Focused Psychologyand Therapy in the United States,Canada, and MexicoRebecca Macy and Thomas DohertyLewis & Clark Graduate School of Counseling, Portland, Oregon. This guide was compiled based on the contact lists of the authorsand queries to representative listserv’s, academic journals, anddisciplinary websites. Programs with substantive and ongoingenvironmentally focused psychology, psychotherapy, or counseling curricula were sought for inclusion in the guide. Criteria includedthe presence of one or more of the following keywords in their academiccourse catalogs and/or institutional Web sites: ecopsychology, environmental psychology, conservation psychology, and human ecology. Theguide is intended to be a reference for graduate students and educatorsand, while aiming toward comprehensiveness, it is not meant to be definitive. The results of this relatively informal survey indicate a number ofenvironmentally focused psychology and therapy training programsacross a variety of program types, practice settings, and regions. Directionsfor future research include an international survey of programs; details onprogram type, philosophy, and enrollments; and examination of emergingtrends in credentialing, certification, and professional practice.GRADUATE PROGRAM DIRECTORYMaster’s Degree ProgramsAntioch University New EnglandKeene, NHMS Environmental StudiesFocus: Concentrations in advocacy for social justice & sustainability, environmental education, self-designed studies, and sustain-DOI: 10.1089/eco.2010.0070able development, conservation psychology, and climatechangewww.antiochne.edu/es/Accredited: Higher Learning Commission of the North CentralAssociation of Schools and CollegesLaura B.
