6 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLEDOOR LOCKSManual Door LocksThe power door locks can be manually locked frominside the vehicle by using the door lock knob. To lockeach door, push the door lock knob on each door trimpanel downward. To unlock the front doors, pull theinside door handle to the first detent. For Police vehicle,both rear passenger doors are inoperable from the rearseat position, inside of the vehicle. If the lock knob isdown when the door is closed, the door will lock.Therefore, make sure the key is not inside the vehiclebefore closing the door.Manual Door Lock KnobWARNING! For personal security and safety in the event of ancollision, lock the vehicle doors as you drive aswell as when you park and leave the vehicle.(Continued)

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE STARTING YOUR VEHICLE 7WARNING! (Continued) When leaving the vehicle, always remove the keyfob from the ignition and lock your vehicle. Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or withaccess to an unlocked vehicle. Allowing children to be in a vehicle unattended isdangerous for a number of reasons. A child orothers could be seriously or fatally injured. Children should be warned not to touch the parkingbrake, brake pedal or the shift lever. Do not leave the key fob in or near the vehicle, anddo not leave the ignition in the ACC or ON/RUNposition. A child could operate power windows,other controls, or move the vehicle.Power Door Locks2Power Door Lock SwitchIf the lock knob is down when the door is closed, the doorwill lock. Therefore, make sure the key fob is not insidethe vehicle before closing the door.If you press the door lock switch while the key fob is inThe power door lock switch is located on each front doorthe ignition switch and the driver’s door is open, thepanel. Press the switch to lock or unlock the doors.doors will not lock.

To select between “Unlock DriverDoor 1st Press” and “Unlock All Doors 1st Press”, refer to“Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)/PersonalSettings (Customer-Programmable Features)” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for further information.To Unlock From The Passenger Side:With a valid Passive Entry RKE transmitter within 5 ft(1.5 m) of the passenger door handle, grab the frontpassenger door handle to unlock only the front doorsautomatically. The interior door panel lock knob willraise when the door is unlocked.The vehicle doors can also be locked by using the RKEtransmitter lock button or the lock button located on thevehicle’s interior door panel.

With the ignition switch turnedto the RUN position and the engine OFF, push the tripodometer/reset button repeatedly until the odometerreading is displayed. From the odometer position, pressand hold the reset button for ten seconds and theodometer will display the following: the engine hour timer will show 15 seconds each ofTotal Engine Hours “Eh” and Idle Hours “Ih” the odometer display will return to normal after 30seconds.

INSTALLATION OF RADIO TRANSMITTINGEQUIPMENTSpecial design considerations are incorporated into thisvehicle’s electronic system to provide immunity to radiofrequency signals. Mobile two-way radios and telephoneequipment must be installed properly by trained personnel.The following must be observed during installation.The positive power connection should be made directly tothe battery and fused as close to the battery as possible.The negative power connection should be made to bodysheet metal adjacent to the negative battery connection.This connection should not be fused.Antennas for two-way radios should be mounted on the roofor the rear area of the vehicle. Care should be used inmounting antennas with magnet bases. Magnets may affectthe accuracy or operation of the compass on vehicles soequipped.The antenna cable should be as short as practical androuted away from the vehicle wiring when possible. Useonly fully shielded coaxial cable.Carefully match the antenna and cable to the radio toensure a low Standing Wave Ratio (SWR).Mobile radio equipment with output power greater thannormal may require special precautions.All installations should be checked for possible interference between the communications equipment and thevehicle’s electronic systems.
