Allowance for Expedited LicensureGuidelines for schools Draft – 11/16/2020Testing:x Each school will create its own placement / test-out exam for eachsemester that will be based upon thex Curriculum alignment document approved in the February 2020Licensing Board meeting.x Each written exam will have a minimum of 50 questions, maximum of80 questions.x Exam will be proctored using learning institution exam proctoringprotocols. Can be administered in written form or on a computersystem monitored via the school’s testing facility.Eligibility:x Candidates must have a current Utah Apprentice Electrician License.x Candidates can only take each test one time.x Candidates may take a placement exam if and only if they 1) pass theprevious exam; or, 2) pass the previous pre-requisite course.Records:x School will maintain transcript records for successful candidates.x Passing score on exam must be minimum 75%.x Schools agree to accept transcript of another Utah program unlessthe program standards or accreditation have specific requirements.Requirement:x Schools have the option when they choose to administer the tests.x Schools may charge a test fee and/or a fee for the “credit” on thetranscript.x Programs may administer the exams prior to acceptance into theprogram if the program standards dictate, or the option can beavailable to “test-out” of any given semester if the pre-requisites aremet.
