The original icon was crafted and blessed in the Ukraine, but I wasunaware of that at the time of the purchase. Its delivery was delayed for severalweeks because of “complications” with Ukrainian customs but eventually thesacred icon was cleared and released, and it is in our possession. It wasn’t untilI was contacted by the seller of the icon that I realized that both the icon and he(Yuri Melhior) were in the Ukraine. I received the icon (the original one) afterthebeginning of the war so, ironically, our icon (which is intended to be hung in thenew baptistry) may well be one of the last items that was able to be shipped from Ukrainian territory. Please take time to pray at the icon with special prayers for peace, and for the Ukrainian people who aresuffering the indignities of hatred, war, and strife.Father Kirk
