FEATURESGMO Domestic andCommercial Heat PumpsSuitable for use in harsh water quality conditionsThe water does not make contact with anyoperational components, only the innerlining of the tank.No booster elementGMO heat pumps operate in ambienttemperatures as low as -10 C. No boosterelement, means less energy consumption.Low noise ratingUltra quiet operation as low as 48dB – less thanan average split system air conditioner.Government rebatesEligible installations attract a substantialenergy efficiency cash rebate.Solar without the panelsHot water from solar energy, without theneed for direct sunlight or roof panels. Heatpumps generate hot water day and night.Patented Tank Wrap designGMO’s patented wrap designofers one of the fastest hot water recoveryrates in the heat pump market.Easy installationA compact design resulting in reducedlabour and installation costs.Save on power billsCan cut up to 70% of running costscompared to some electric storage units.

DOMESTICSolar Heat PumpsAn extensive range of heat pumps for residential use.

GMO HEAT PUMPHow Does it Work?A simple concept, brilliantly executed. The GMO SolarHeat Pump works on a patented refrigeration principlesimilar to that found in an air conditioner, or refrigerator– but in reverse.A traditional solar hot water service typically consists ofcollector panels or tubes fitted to your roof which waterflows through and then into a storage tank. This servicerelies on the sun and in Australia can provide between50-90% of hot water for your home 3, an electric‘booster element’ kicking in to cover any shortfall.A GMO Solar Heat Pump however makes use of theheat in the ambient air around the system, and a reverserefrigeration process to heat the water. This meansthe sun doesn’t need to be shining, and what’s more,it’s so efficient that it can provide reliable hot water24 hours a day, even in temperatures as low as -10 Cwith no booster element.A GMO heat pump will cost just a fraction to run when compared toother traditional forms of water heating – representing a significantfinancial benefit as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and theenvironmental footprint of your home.Did you know?HOW IT WORKSSun heats the airSolar EnergyFrom the AirHeat pumps rely on ambient air temperature ratherthan incidental sunshine. Utilising refrigerationprinciples, GMO Heat Pumps can extract heatfrom the air without the need for direct sunlight, and can produce hot water in rain, hail or shine –without the need for a booster element.1Energised air inducted into heat pump4Once the air is drawn into the heat pump, itpasses over an evaporator containing a refrigerantwhich boils at a very low temperature. The boilingrefrigerant is then compressed causing its’temperature to be raised even further –transforming it into a super-heated vapour.Energy transferred to heat cold water2Using GMO’s patented Tank Wrap technology, this super-heated vapour is fed through copper coils(condenser) wrapped around the outside of thewater tank, heating the water evenly and efficientlyfrom the outside in.Cold air expelled33http://www.energyrating.gov.auOnce the heat has been extracted from the air andtransferred to the water, the remaining cold air isdischarged from the heat pump by fan. Once thedesired water temperature is reached, the systemwill go into energy-saving standby mode until it isrequired to commence heating again.
