Pairing just two words can evoke different emotions and also carry tremendous power. 2

“Oh, Lord.” “Let's roll.” “How sweet.” “I’m blushing.” “Oh, wait.” “That’s enough.” "Think twice.” “Why me?” “That’s it.” “Move over.” “Watch out.” “Forget this.” "Come back.” “Of course.” " I’m pregnant.” “It’s over.” “Love you." "Thank You.” “I’m sorry.” “You win.” “Believe me.” “Trust me.” “You’re welcome.” “Very nice.” “I see.” “Tune in.” “Just drive.” Jesus used two words on more than one occasion while on earth. In this week's text, He said, "Follow Me." Those are two very special words! He still says those words to people. This week at church we will hear them again. God bless you, and see you in church or online. Rev. William C. L: This is the time when God’s people gather together. P: This is the time when we wait to hear God’s word. L: This is the time when we see friends, old and new. P: This is the time when we remember that God makes us family. L: This is the time when we give thanks for all that is good. P: This is the time to examine our hearts. L: Then let us worship God. Opening Hymn –#240 "Fairest Lord Jesus" "Hymns for the Family of God" Opening Prayer – Unison God of hope and safety, like sheep who go astray, we have wandered from Your paths of life and light. We have heard the Shepherd's voice calling us by name, but we have turned instead to our own way. Show us Your tender mercy; restore us in the security of Your fold. Lead us back to still waters, seat us again at Your bounteous table. Fill us with Your Spirit, that we might bear glad witness to Your saving mercy, revealed to us in the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— 14 to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— 16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” 17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” 13 Reflection Hymn – #432 "Softly and Tenderly" "Hymns for the Family of God" SCRIPTURE MATTHEW 4:18-23 4

18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. 23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
