We are all aware that parking can be very chaotic around ourschool at drop off and pick up time. Many parents appear to try and arrive right on bell time at 9:20am.Can I suggest that parents aim to get their children there at 9:10am and if something does happen it givesthem a little bit of time.Teachers will be sending children who arrive late to the office to get a late arrival form, which parents willneed to complete. This can be avoided by ensuring your child is at school before the bell goes. Pleasesupport us.PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWSWe have had to delay the link to booking interviews as the Department of Education will be carrying outsystem maintenance on the ZOOM app on Tuesday 23 March.Notification will be sent via email and our SkoolBag app when the booking link will be open.4M SCHOOL INTERVIEWS DELAYEDI know Mrs Semler is organising school interviews for later this term. Home Reading ProgramDear Parents and Carers,Learning to read is the most important educational outcome of primary education. It is a complex processinvolving the development of oral language, specific skill development and comprehension strategies.Epping Public School has recently invested thousands of dollars, ensuring that every student across K-3 hasaccess to a range of quality home readers. The final delivery of the new Home Readers occurred last week. We are currently in the process ofcovering them and sharing the readers evenly between all classes across K-3.I want to thank Mrs Hammond-Walker, our Librarian Assistant for undertaking this significant task. The Home Reading Program will commence in Week 1 of Term 2. Each class will have its own set of HomeReaders. Students will be able to select readers regularly, track their readers and continue developing alove of reading. Students will be informed of their current independent level so that they will be able toread and comprehend the selected text at home.Parents play a large part in the development of reading skills and oral language at home. The departmenthas released some ideas for parents/carers to help their young children read. These can be found ith-your-child-at-home.Mr DayLiteracy LeaderScholastic Book ClubScholastic Book Club brochures were sent home last week.
