Assessment – current considerationsThe National Qualifications Group is working through a range of scenarios and isconsidering potential flexibilities for the alternative certification model, should theybe needed. This may include extending the date for submitting provisional results. The priority for schools during January should be to maximise learning and teachingtime.Subject-specific guidance on gathering evidence will be published by the end ofJanuary to advise on the types of evidence that can be used to determine a provisionalresult for each pupil. This will include enhanced guidance for some practical-basedsubjects.Formal assessments will take place in the later stages of the 2020-21 session.
