These limited warranties give you specificlegal rights. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state.For example, you may have some implied warranties, depending on the statewhere your vehicle was sold or is registered.These implied warranties are limited, to the extent allowed by law, to the timeperiods covered by the express written warranties contained in this booklet.If you use your vehicle primarily for business or commercial purposes, thenthese implied warranties do not apply and MBUSA completely disclaims themto the extent allowed by law. Items Covered by Other WarrantiesThe subsequent pages of this Service andWarranty Information booklet describesome service requirements and thewarranties you receive as an owner.Your vehicle is covered under the termsof these “Warranties” and your nearestauthorized Mercedes-Benz Dealership willexchange or repair any defective partsin accordance with the terms of suchwarranties within stated limits.The following are covered by separatewarranties offered by their makers. Theyare not covered by the Basic LimitedWarranty:Please keep this booklet together with theOperator’s Manual, Maintenance Bookletand other documents concerning yourvehicle so that future owners will haveaccess to this literature if you should sellthe vehicle.B. What’s CoveredThe New Vehicle Limited Warrantywarrants to the original and eachsubsequent owner of a new Metrisvehicle that any authorized MercedesBenz Dealership will make any repairsor replacements necessary to correctdefects in material or workmanshiparising during the warranty period.ANY AUTHORIZED MERCEDES-BENZDEALERSHIP: Any authorized MercedesBenz Dealership of the owner’s choice willperform warranty repairs or replacements.The vehicle should be delivered to anauthorized Mercedes-Benz Dealershipduring normal service hours. A reasonabletime should be allowed after taking thevehicle to an authorized Mercedes-BenzDealership for performance of the repair. tires; oritems added or changed after yourMetris vehicle left the manufacturingplant, such as accessories orprotection products, or itemschanged because of customizationor van conversion (except GenuineMercedes-Benz accessoriesdesigned for Metris, and installedby an authorized Mercedes-BenzDealership). Be sure you get a copyof any warranty that applies tothese items from your authorizedMercedes-Benz Dealership, or fromthe maker of the product. Towing Costs Are Covered UnderCertain CircumstancesThe New Vehicle Limited Warranty andthe Spare Parts Warranty cover the costof towing your vehicle to the nearestauthorized Mercedes-Benz Dealershipif your vehicle cannot be drivenbecause a covered part has failed, see(e Page 34).

What’s CoveredE. When It BeginsThe New Vehicle Limited Warrantybegins on either of the following dates,whichever is earlier: the date you take initial delivery ofthe vehicle;or the date when the vehicle was firstput into service as an authorizedMercedes-Benz Dealership “demo”or as a company vehicle of thevehicle distributor;G. Registration and OperationRequirementsThe New Vehicle Limited Warranty coversyour vehicle only if: it was built for sale in the U.S.;it’s registered in the U.S.;it’s driven mainly in the U.S. orCanada, see (e Page 33); andit’s operated and maintained in themanner described in your Operator’sManual and Maintenance Booklet.but no later than 18 months from thevehicle production date. Warrantycoverage will be adjusted to reflect theactual warranty period start date.H. If Your Vehicle Leaves the UnitedStates (We Include U.S. Possessionsand Territories as Part of the UnitedStates for Warranty Purposes):F. When It EndsEXCEPT WHERE SPECIFICALLYREQUIRED BY LAW, THERE IS NOWARRANTY COVERAGE ON THISVEHICLE IF IT IS SOLD IN ORREGISTERED IN COUNTRIES OTHERTHAN THE UNITED STATES.The New Vehicle Limited Warranty is for36 months or 36,000 miles, whicheveroccurs first.Not all components or adjustmentscarry a 36 month or 36,000 milewarranty. Warranty coverage for specificcomponents or adjustments is based onthe vehicle’s time in service or mileageand should always be verified with yourauthorized Mercedes-Benz Dealershipprior to any repairs. Examples include, butare not limited to, the following: Wheel alignment and balancingBrake padsBrake discsGlassWiper blades and insertsThis policy does not apply to vehiclesthat have received authorization forexport from the vehicle distributor.Authorized Mercedes-BenzDealerships may not give authorizationfor export.
