How do I verify my application is received?CHECK THE REGISTRAR’S WEBSITE Go to the Graduation ion/Click “Apply to Graduate” – This will bring you to the main graduationpage.Scroll to see the heading ‘Application Received List’ click the link below itCheck for your name, verify that the spelling of your name is correct (if notyou will need to contact Ms. McLamb and submit a corrected ApplicationASAP)List is updated each Friday or as needed.

What should I wear?Be sure you secure your cap and gown with the bookstore. Business Casual Attire: Men usually wear a dress shirt and tie with slacks Ladies usually wear dress, skirt or dress pants Wear appropriate shoes: Remember you will benavigating stairs and walking across the stage.

Can I decorate my cap?YES!We love to see decorated caps.Just be sure that your decoration is flush to the topof the cap.

Can I wear my sorority/fraternity/honorclub stole/cord/decorations?The approved uniform for graduation is:1. The Campbell issued cap, gown and tassel (and Hood forMaster’s level candidates) that can be purchased from the CUbookstore.2. Honor cord given to the candidate the morning of graduationprior to the ceremony for candidates who meet the Latin honorsGPA requirements for Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude orSumma Cum Laude

Tassels – Which side?Master’s CandidatesBachelor’s Students If you are a Bachelor’sstudent, wear the tasselon the right. Once youreceive your degree (as agroup) you will beinstructed to turn yourtassel to the left. Master’s & Doctoralcandidates march in theprocessional with yourtassel on the left. Thissignifies your previousdegree.

What if I am getting multiple degrees?DUAL DEGREES – Dual degree students will only cross the stage once. Yourdegrees will be listed in the program. Students receiving more than one degree on same level will walk with theprimary degree or highest level awarded. Examples include: Students receiving Associates & Bachelors: you will walk with Bachelors Students graduating with 2 Bachelors: you will walk with your primarydegree Students receiving more than one degree on different levels will walk with thehighest degree awarded. Examples: BBA and MBA students will walk with their MBA Students who’s degrees span across ceremonies please contact MelissaMcLamb to confirm which ceremony you will be participating.

When do I get my diploma? Diplomas will be available following each ceremony. Please go straightto your designated area to receive your diploma following theceremony. Diplomas will not be available the day of commencement for student’s withactive Business Office holds Diplomas may not be available for applicants who applied after the March29th deadline Students receiving Latin honors (Summa Cum Laude, Magna CumLaude, Cum Laude) may pick up diploma WITHOUT honors listed theday of the ceremony but the diploma with honors will be MAILED to theaddress you provided on your graduation application.

Main Campus Undergrad and Graduate School of Education/Lundy-Fetterman School of BusinessSaturday Ceremony:8:00 am - Graduates report to Fred McCall Practice Gym (rear entrance ofthe Convocation Center)9:00 am - Ceremony begins in John W. Pope Jr. Convocation CenterOverflow will be in Butler Chapel. Tickets will not be required for overflowseating.

What to expect the day of the ceremony? Arrive at Fred McCall Practice Gym, in the back entrance of theConvocation Center. Check in at the back tables to find your seat number. Students will be seated in the Fred McCall Practice gym in order ofentrance into the Convocation Center. Students will be given a blue card that has their name and honors (ifapplicable). Please hold on to that blue card. Do not fold, wad up or inotherwise destroy the card as you will need to hand that card to theannouncer at the podium. Students will be the first to enter the ceremony and the last to leave.

What to expect the day of the ceremony? (Con’t) Students will leave the practice gym in the following order: All odd rows will leave out to left All even rows will leave out to the right Students will enter the convocation center on the corresponding rowthey were seated in the practice gym. Once the ceremony is over students will leave in the following order: All odd rows will go out the left All even rows will go out the right

How do I enter stage to receive my diploma scroll? As you enter the stage, hand your blue card with your name on it to thefaculty member at the podium. They will call your name.Walk in front of the podium when your name is called and walk towardsthe President and the Dean.The President or your Dean will hand you your diploma scroll. Shakehands with your right hand and extend the left hand to receive yourdiploma scroll. You will have your picture taken, turn slightly to facethe audience.Exit the stage.

Hooding for Master’s students Make sure you enter with the hood unbuttoned and on your right arm. Yourhighest degree is on top. As you enter on stage give your blue card to the person at the podium. As your name is called step forward and stop before the hooding platform. Bend knees slightly if necessary while facing audience, faculty marshals willplace your hood over your head. Walk to the dean. You will then receive your diploma and have your picturetaken. Shake hand with your right hand, extend the left hand to receive your diploma. Exit stage

What if I or a member of my familyrequires special accommodations? Both the Convocation Center and Butler Chapel are handicapaccessible. The handicap seating will be located along the top ofconcourse in the Convocation Center and in various locations on thefloor in Butler Chapel. If you or your family member has any visual or hearing impairment,please contact Melissa McLamb to make appropriateaccommodations. If you have any physical impairment that would prohibit you fromwalking long distances or climbing stairs to go across the stageplease contact Melissa McLamb directly.
