Bang&Olufsen to BOSE 18/28 SERIES IIUpdated: 2006 June 7’thIntroductionThis manual describes show to control a BOSE LIFESTYLE 18/28 system, by means of a Bang&OlufsenBEO4 remote control.The system is designed for owners of a Bang&Olufsen Television, whom wants to use the existing BEO4 toremote control a BOSE LIFESTYLE 18/28.An infrared converter, LinTronic TT455-RT-238 (with BOSE feature enabled) or TT455-RT-003 (dedicatedBOSE controller), receives the infrared signals from the BEO4, converts them into an appropriate BOSEinfrared signal, and sends it to the BOSE system.It is assumed that the user owns:- a BOSE LIFESTYLE 18/28 SERIES II system.- a Bang&Olufsen Television (optional)- a BEO4 remote controlhttp://www.lintronic.dk

Bang&Olufsen to BOSE 18/28 SERIES IIUpdated: 2006 June 7’thPreparationsThe LinTronic TT455-RT-238/TT455-RT-003 must be powered by 9 - 18 Volt dc, by an adaptor capable ofdelivering 350 mA or higher, and must be located so it can receive the BEO4 signals and reach the BOSEsystem when transmitting.The BOSE system must be programmed to receive IR signals. Use the original BOSE remote control tochange the following:Activate the BOSE remote control, key SYSTEM and watch the SYSTEM MENU appear on the TV screen.Goto REMOTE CONTROL and set IR CONTROL to ON (do not select LEARN).http://www.lintronic.dk

Bang&Olufsen to BOSE 18/28 SERIES IIUpdated: 2006 June 7’thOperationThe BOSE system can be controlled by the BEO4 in the following modes:TV, RADIO, SAT/DTV, DVD, CD, VTAPE/VMEM, ATAPE/AMEMIn order to change mode on the BOSE system:For TV mode, activate BEO4 TVFor RADIO mode, activate BEO4 RADIOFor CAB-SAT mode, activate BEO4 SAT or DTVFor DVD mode, activate BEO4 DVDFor CD mode, activate BEO4 CDFor VCR mode, activate BEO4 VTAPE or VMEMFor HARDDISK mode (STORED), activate BEO4 ATAPE or AMEMIn order to control the most BOSE features, we had to work around a few obstacles.Menu/SettingsIn any mode, in order to get access to the BOSE menu, activate the ”YELLOW” buttonwhich brings up the BOSE menu on the TV. Also it allows you to use all four directionskey on the BEO4 to navigate in the BOSE menu. The GO button will act as ENTER.Activate ”EXIT” to skip the menu. This will bring the direction keys back the normaloperation.DVD menuIn DVD mode, in order to get access to the DVD menu, activate the ”RED” button whichbrings up the DVD menu on the TV. Also it allows you to use all four directions key on theBEO4 to navigate in the DVD menu. The GO button will act as ENTER.Activate ”EXIT” to skip the menu. This will bring the direction keys back the normaloperation.Speakers 2-3-5In any mode, in order to adjust the surround load-speaker sound level, activate the”BLUE” button.
