Darwen SpitfireWWII MemorialDarwen was the smallest town in theUK to finance a spitfire during WWII,and the Spitfire memorial will be alasting reminder of the Town’scontribution to the War Effort. Thesculpture has taken two years tocomplete; and costing around 175khas been 100% funded, manufacturedand donated by the WEC Group to thepeople of Darwen.The motivation behind the donation isto recognise and remember themassive contribution the people ofDarwen made when they managed toraise the cost to purchase a spitfirefor use in the WWII R.A.F. The 3:1ratio stainless steel sculpture, with awing span measuring 3.8 metres andstanding 6.9 metres high has beenhand crafted by WEC Group’s ownapprentices.

Specialist metal fabricators and consultantsThe Meads Reach BridgeThe 55 Metre, 75 Tonne footbridge situated in the Temple Quay II area of Bristol was fabricated bym-tec. The bridge was made in eight sections and delivered to the site where the sections were weldedtogether. The Footbridge was then lifted and placed across the river in one piece. This project is atestament to our capability.
