It is not the goods youpurchase that I am referring to, but ensuring your cyber security. This is a perfect time to change old passwords – choose onethat is a combination of capital and lower case letters, at leastone number and symbol – that you and ONLY you- willremember. There are numerous websites and increasingly, many financial institutions, that offer free services that will storeyour passwords in encrypted fashion that require you to onlyremember one password to access all of your others.Keep emailed receipts of on-line transactions; shred – do notjust throw away- expired credit cards and those “pre-approved”cards with your name on them that you receive in the mail if youare not going to use them. Log-off shopping websites if youhave a sign-in and be sure to close ATM screens before drivingaway to do more shopping. So, enjoy the holidays, caveat emptor and be cyber-safe!Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!
