Page 2dispatcherPresident’s MessageAfter being with Beth Ferrier for two days, all I want to do is “Keep On Quilting.” I love herfloral, feminine, and romantic style. And best of all, she showed us how we can create thatlook too! Her “hand appliqué by machine” is really quite simple but so effective when completed. I just finished my workshop project today, and I am delighted with it. I am anxious toshare it with all of you at our next Guild Meeting.Speaking of flowers, have you noticed that Spring is starting to pop? As my husband and Iwere driving in our neighborhood today, I was enjoying seeing the beautiful Spring blossomson so many of the trees. How pretty and pink they are; it’s my favorite time of the year.Maybe these signs of Spring signify it’s time for a “quilting” fresh start. Possibly it’s time for anew project or better yet, how about stitching a new twist on an old UFO. I think it’s timefor stepping out of the box by trying something new and breathing new life into that uglyand tired UFO. Let’s Spring into action, let’s create new life, all pretty and pink.So dust off those UFO’S and see what new miracle you can create. Maybe if you change theborder, add an appliqué, or stitch a scalloped edge, it can become the new and exciting project that it once was. Let’s see how many UFO’s we can revive by recreating them, makingthem flowers instead of weeds. Bring them for Show and Tell and listen to the ooh’s andaah’s as your quilting buddies admire your spirit and your newly treasured UFO. Remember,“We can Quilt It” because that’s what we do .Happy Quilting and Lots of Hugs,JoyceDispatcher March 2008
