Color Viewing SystemsFor critical color viewing, color communication and assessmentISO STANDARD VIEWING SYSTEMS

True Light. True Color.A Commitment to the ISO Standard and Guaranteed Quality0.1.2.3.3.2.10Graphiclite viewing systems aremeasured and plotted on this ISOspecified CIE diagram—a chart ofcolor space on which any perceivablecolor can be precisely targeted.450500550600650700400Wave Length (nm)D50StandardCurve450500550600Wave Length (nm)Figure 1. High CRI, 5000K FluorescentSuperior Color AccuracyThe GTI Graphiclite spectrum in Figure 4 (at bottom) delivers coloraccuracy that is superior to any other lamp on the market.Spectral IrradianceSpectral IrradianceDue to GTI’s commitment to the ISO standard and guaranteedquality, our Graphiclite 100 color viewing lamps have developeda reputation for unparalleled excellence. This is mainly a result oftheir close match to the D50 spectral specifications and thus theirtight compliance with ISO 3664 standards.D50StandardCurveUnlike high CRI 5000K lamps with irregularspectral output curves, the Graphiclite 100 lampspectral curve is even and smooth and deliversthe closest fit to the CIE D50 curve. This tight fit, along with lamp output consistency and rangeof lamp sizes, is one of the key reasons why GTIviewing products lead the world for critical colorimage viewing. Quality and performance isfurther guaranteed by tight manufacturingtolerances in lamp production. The spectral power distribution of Graphiclite 100lamps is the key to their superior rendition ofcolor. While it is important to meet all of theISO 3664 parameters to receive the full benefitsof the viewing standard, the most importantfactor is the spectrum of the light falling on the colored image. The spectral power distributions in Figures 1–3 (below) illustratehow three different lamps, two fluorescent and one LED, attempt torecreate the CIE D50 spectrum. It is clear that each of these lampswould render color differently from each other as well as from therendition specified by ISO 3664. LED technology is improving at arapid pace. However, at present, it does not deliver a good enoughspectral match to the D50 target to have application in GTIGraphiclite viewing systems.World Leading Critical Color Image Viewing400.6.4GTI’s color laboratory assures the accuracy and consistency ofGraphiclite 100 color viewing lamps and all Graphiclite productsbefore they are released for shipment. At GTI, we stand behind ourproducts and services while continuing to meet the ever changingneeds of our customers. We make no compromises.350.5.5The international standard is ISO 3664:2009entitled “Graphic technology and photography–Viewing conditions.” The standard specifies lightquality, intensity, illuminating-viewing geometry, surround conditions, and evenness. All GTIGraphiclite color viewing systems conform tothe ISO 3664:2009 standard.300.4.6Spectral IrradianceProducing and printing high quality color is acomplicated process that demands accuracyand consistency. Far too often, incorrect andinconsistent lighting and viewing conditionsresult in costly communication problems duringthe color reproduction process. To combatthese problems, the industry has establisheda set of technical specifications defining tighttolerance D50 viewing conditions.Figure 2. Low CRI, 5000K 0Wave Length (nm)Figure 3.
