MESSAGE FROM THE CEOSustainability is a strategic priority at WESCO International. We strive forcontinuous improvement in our economic, environmental, and socialperformance. We enable our customers to further embed sustainability intotheir own operations through our products and value-added services. Wecollaborate with our suppliers to ensure their approaches to sustainability are inalignment with ours. Our focus on sustainability and continuous improvement enabled us to achieveall of our five-year improvement goals for waste, energy, emissions, and fuelefficiency through 2015. To ensure continued progress, we reassessed oursustainability priorities last year and established appropriately challenging newgoals that will guide our efforts in the coming years. We have made progress on many fronts. Our internal experts again helpedcustomers enhance productivity, improve safety, reduce costs, minimizewaste and emissions, boost energy efficiency, and achieve positive bottomline results. For example, we completed more than 250 lighting retrofits thatare designed to save 1.2 million kilowatt hours and avoid 1,200 U.S. tons ofgreenhouse gases annually. Our Value Creation team helped customers applylean concepts to various aspects of their value chains, delivering more than 87million in savings. In addition, our Government Partner Network experts workedwith diverse customers to help them secure government business.TABLE OF NMENT15SOCIAL18AWARDS & RECOGNITION23GRI INDEX24We also continued our focus on running safe and reliable distributionoperations. Our total recordable incident rate did increase following five years ofsteady decline; however, our safety performance remains six times better thanindustry averages. It also earned us one of the top rankings for total recordableincident rate among our peers in the National Association of WholesalerDistributors.Last year, we continued to extend our sustainability program to our keysuppliers, who play a critical role in our management of the total distributionsupply chain for our customers. We released a new Supplier Code of Conduct, which covers many aspects of sustainability, and developed our first suppliersustainability survey. The survey gives us significant insight into our keysuppliers’ performance against the Supplier Code of Conduct, as well as thematurity of their sustainability efforts.I encourage you to read our sustainability report in its entirety for moreinformation on our progress and opportunities for continued improvement.Feedback on the report and our performance can be sent toSustainability@wescodist.com.Sincerely,John J. EngelChairman, President, and Chief Executive OfficerWESCO International Inc.
