Unit purposeManage personal, family, cultural and business obligationsAt the end of this unit learners should have the skills and knowledge required to examine theimpact that personal, family and cultural obligations have on business operations and businesssuccess.Specifically, learners should be able to: Identify personal and business commitments/obligations within family, cultural and communitycontexts.Develop ethical work practices within family, cultural and community contexts.Review work practices within family, cultural and community contexts.This unit applies to individuals who operate/manage a micro or small business.Assessment Conditions and Policy All TAFE students are eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). For moreinformation go to on.If you have a permanent or temporary condition that may prevent you successfullycompleting the assessment task(s) you should immediately talk with your teacher about‘reasonable adjustment’. This is the adjustment of the way you are assessed to take intoaccount your condition and may include providing a support person or extra time. Theassessment criteria cannot be altered.If you do not agree with the mark/grade given for your assessment task, you may appealthe assessment decision. You should first discuss the assessment result with yourteacher. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of that discussion you can access theappeal process through the staff in the campus administration office.Late Submission of Assessments – there is a penalty for late assessment submission. Ifyou require more time to complete an assessment you should talk to your teacher at least aweek before the due date to arrange an extension.If you are absent on the day of an assessment event, eg practical or test, you will need toprovide a medical certificate.Written assessments may be submitted to your teacher in draft form a week or more beforethe due date for feedback.
