To remove the battery, first push thebattery lock knob in the direction of the arrow and thenremove. Contact an authorized distributor or service center if youare unable to remove the battery. Do not use force. It is recommended to set aside a backup battery for prolonged shooting in case thebattery in use drains. Also read “Battery and charger” (P. 146).14 EN

Inserting the cardThe following types of SD memory card (commercially available) can be used with thiscamera: SD, SDHC, SDXC, and Eye-Fi.Read “Usable cards” (P. 147) before use.11PreparationEye-Fi cardsOpen the card compartment cover.122Slide the card in until it is locked into place. Shooting data will be recorded according to theselected option for [K Save Settings] (P. 54). g “Usable cards” (P. 147) Turn off the camera before loading or removingthe card. Do not forcibly insert a damaged or deformedcard. Doing so may damage the card slot.Card slot 1Card slot 2Terminal area3Close the card compartment cover. Close it securely until you hear it click. If a UHS-II card is inserted into the slot 2 (UHS-I compatible), the card operates asUHS-I. Multiple Eye-Fi cards cannot be used at the same time. Removing the cardPress the card in to eject it. Setting the date/timeDate and time information is recorded on the card together with the images. The filename is also included with the date and time information. Be sure to set the correctdate and time before using the camera. Some functions cannot be used if the date andtime have not been set.Preparation1Display the menus. Switching between displaysThe camera is equipped with an eye sensor, which turns the viewfinder on when youput your eye to the viewfinder. Whenthe viewfinder is lit up, the monitorturns off. The viewfinder will not turn on when the monitor is tilted. If the viewfinder is not in focus, put your eye to theviewfinder and focus the display by rotating thediopter adjustment dial. Press the u button to switch between live view and viewfinder shooting (live view andsuper control panel display). If the super control panel (P. 50) is displayed in the monitor, theviewfinder will turn on when you put your eye to the viewfinder.
