? Overflow ProtectionOur Avanti dishwasher has an overfill protection device which could automatically shut off the inlet valveand start the drain pump if the water overflow. If this occurs, turn off the main water supply before callinga servicer. If there is water in the base pan because of an overfill or small leak, the water should beremoved before restarting the dishwasher.?Detergent DispenserThe dispenser must be refilled before the start of each wash cycle according to the instructions providedin the “Wash Cycles”. Our dishwashers use less detergent and rinse aid than conventionaldishwashers. Generally, only one tablespoon of detergent is needed for a normal wash load. Also, moreheavily soiled items need more detergent. Always add the detergent just before starting dishwasher, otherwise it could get damp and will not dissolve properly.1.2.3.4.5.6.Main Wash DetergentDispenser Lid LeverPrewash Detergent CompartmentRinse Aid Level IndicatorRinse Aid CompartmentDetergent Compartment LidAmount of Detergent to UseThe amount of detergent to use depends on whether your water is hard or soft. To determine the waterhardness in your area, contact your local water utility or area water softening company. The harder thewater, the more detergent you may need. Remember, you should adjust the amount of detergent youuse little by little until you find the correct amount.Notes: Even if the water isn’t too hard, you may also prevent the f ormation of deposits by addingdetergent.Removing Hard Water Spots From DishesTo remove hard water spots, try the following:?Run dishes through a normal wash program.?Remove all metal dishware, such as cutlery, pans, etc., from the dishwasher.?Do not a dd detergent.?Pour two cups of vinegar into a bowl and set the bowl face up on the lower rack of the dishwasher.?Run the dishes through a normal wash program. If this doesn’t work, try the same process with ¼ cup of citric acid crystals instead of vinegar .Proper Use Of DetergentUse only detergent specifically made for use in dishwasher. Keep your detergent fresh and dry. Don’tput powder detergent into the dispenser until you’re ready to wash dishes.?Rinse Aid DispenserThe rinse aid is released during the final rinse to prevent water from forming droplets on your dishes thatcan leave spots and streaks. It also improves drying by allowing water to “sheet” off the dishes. Our dishwashers are designed to use liquid rinse aid. The rinse aidDispenser is located inside the door next to the detergent dispenser. To fill the dispenser, following the following steps to open the capand pour the rinse aid into the dispenser until the level indicator turnscompletely black. The dispenser holds about 100 ml of liquid rinse aid.1. To open the dispenser, turn the cap to the “open” (left) arrow10

2.3.and lift it out.Pour the rinse aid into the dispenser, being careful not to overflow.Replace the cap by inserting it aligned with “open” arrow and turning it to the “close” (right)arrow.Be careful not to overfill the dispenser, because this could cause over sudsing. Wipe away any spillswith a damp cloth. Don’t forget to replace the cap before you close the dishwasher door. If you have softwater, you may not need rinse aid because it may cause a white film to develop on your dishes.Adjusting Rinse Aid DispenserA measured amount of rinse aid is released during the final rinse. As with detergent, the amount of rinse aid needed for your dishes depends on the hardness of the waterin your area. Too much rinse aid can result in lather of foaming and cause cloudinessor streaks on your dishes. If the water in you area is very soft, you may not need rinseaid. If you do, you can dilute the rinse aid with an equal amount of water. The rinse aid dispenser has six settings. Always start with the dispenser set on “1”. If there are rings ofcalcium (hard water) spots on dishes and drying problems, increase the amount of rinse aid dispensedby removing the dispenser lid and rotating the dial to “2”. IF the dishes still are not drying properly or arespotted, adjust the dial to the next higher number until your dishes are spot-free. We suggest you to seton”4”.When To Refill The Rinse Aid DispenserWhen dispenser needs to be refilled the rinse aid warning indicatorwill be ON. If there is no rinse aid warning indicator on the controlpanel, you can judge the amount of rinse aid by the following means. The black dot on the rinse aid dispenser indicates the amount of rinseaid in th e dispenser. As the rinse aid diminishes, the size of the blackdot decreases. You should never let the rinse aid get below ¼ full.?Loading The Dishwasher RacksFor best performance of the dishwasher, follow these loading guidelines. How to Use the Upper RackThe upper rack is designed to hold more delicate and lighter dishware such as glasses, coffee and teacup and saucers, as well as plates, small bowls and shallow pans (as long as they are not too dirty).Position the dishes and cookware so that th ey do not get moved by the spray of water. The upper rack can be adjusted for height by putting wheels of different height into the rails.1.2.3.4.5.6.7.CupsSmall Serving BowlLarge Serving BowlGlassesSaucersDishPlatesHow To Use The Lower RackWe recommend that you place large items which are most difficult to clean into the lower rack: pots, pans, lids, serving dishes and bowls, as shown in the figure.11

It is preferable to place serving dishes and lids on the side of the racks in order to avoid blocking therotation of the top spray arm.? Pots, serving bowls, etc, must always be placed top down.? Deep pots should be slanted to allow water to flow out.? The bottom rack feature folds down tine rows so that larger or more pots and pans can be loaded.1.2.3.4.5.Oval PlatterDinner PlatesSoup PlatesDessert DishesSilverware Basketilverware BasketSilverware should be placed in the silverware basket with handles at the bottom:if the rack has side baskets, the spoon should be loaded individually into theappropriate slots, especially long utensils should be placed in the horizontalposition at the front of the upper rack.WARNING: Do not let any item extend through bottom.?Starting A Wash CycleMake sure that the dishwasher is energized.Make sure the water supply is turned on to full pressure.Load the dishwasher.Pour in the detergent.Slowly turn the wash cycles knob to the desired position in the clockwise direction. Don’ t turn itpast that position, or you could accidentally miss a cycle.Press the ON/OFF button, and the POWER indicator will turn on. At this point, the wash cycle willbegin. There is a time delay between start-up and water fill so you will not hear any wash actionright away.?Canceling Or Modifying A Wash Cycle SettingPremise: A cycle that is underway can only be modified if it has only been running for a short time.Otherwise, the detergent may have already been release, and the appliance may have already drainedthe wash water. If this is the case, the detergent dispenser must be refilled.Press the ON/OFF button, and the POWER indicator will turn off. Rotate the knob in the clockwisedirection to the desired cycle setting. Then, turn the dishwasher back on by pressing the ON/OFFbutton.? At The End Of The Wash CycleWhen the knob stops turning and is aligned with a STOP mark, the cycle hasfinished. Turn off the appliance using the ON/OFF button, shut off the water supplyand open the door of the dishwasher. Wait a few minutes before unloading thedishwasher to avoid handling the dishes and utensils while they are still hot andmore susceptible to breakage. They will also dry better.12
