Stitch D:1 places the needle1/4" from the right-hand side of a 9mmfoot. You can also use a center straightstitch and the 1/4" indicator line on thebobbin cover. The advantage of usingstitch D:1 is that the fabric will ride onall feed dogs and be completely underthe foot. This will help the fabric to staystraight as it feeds through the machine. All measurements given are for adultsize. Measurements for child size arein parentheses.FABRIC PREPARATION FORBOTH VERSIONSNOTE: Refer to photo 2 for all linesdrawn in this section.1. Using a temporary fabric marker, draw a line down the vertical center ofthe rectangle of main fabric. The lineshould be drawn on the right side ofthe fabric.2. Using the apron pattern, draw thearm curves onto the right side of therectangle of main fabric. Be sure toalign the top and sides of the fabric asshown on the pattern as it is very easyto turn the pattern the wrong direction. The fold line of the pattern shouldalign with the line drawn in step 1.2HUSQVARNA VIKING SEW–ALONG 2021 3. Measure 2 3 8" (13 8") down from thetop edge of the rectangle and draw a linelong enough to intersect the lines drawnfor both arm curves. This line representsthe lower edge of the decorative bandat the top of the apron. This will bereferred to as Line 1 going forward.4. Measure 11/2" (11/2") down from theline drawn in step 3 and draw anotherline. The top of the tree appliqué willfall on the intersection between this lineand the vertical center line. This will bereferred to as Line 2 going forward.MACHINE EMBROIDEREDVERSION1.
