Smriti Zubin Irani inaugurated the conference,released,the syllabi for class VI to X, launched training modulefor teacher education and launched IEC campaign by releasingshort animated movie on Yoqa.'2.-2Public Relation UnitThe malpractice cell of Public relations unit of the Board ismonitoring the misleadingadvertisements appearing in national,repional dailies and verifies complaints· received from otherpublic sources promptly. Cases of disaffiliation and downgradation of schools because of irregularities committed by theschools are also highlightedthrough media for generating publicawareness. Various initiatives have also been taken to promptlydeal:with Public Grievances.:.2.3SGAIThe Fifth edition of. CBSE SGAI was conducted all across theglobe. Approximately 8 lacs students from 13,000 schools haveparticipated in 2011; 2012, 2013 & 2014. A survey of CBSEschools revealed that out of those which responded to- SGAIassessment, 88 percent relied on CBSE for aptitude testing. · ·1

2.4AffiliationThe number of Schools affiliated with the Board as on30.06.2014 was 15,561 and this number has increased to16,293 as on 30.06.2015; as such 732 new schools have beenadded to the list of affiliated schools with the Board during saidperiod.The Controller of the Examination, CBSE apprisedthe House of thefollowingimportant initiatives/issuesExamination unit of theBoard:2.5Senior School Certificate Examination: 2015The Senior School Certificate Examination2015 was conductedfrom 02.03.2015 to 20.04.2015 and result was declared on25.05.2015. 10,16,369 candidates appearedin this examination.Overall pass percentagewas 82.00%.2.6, ,Secondary School Examination- 2015Secondary School Examination Class X was conducted from02.03.2015 to 26.03.2015 and result was declared on28.05.2015. 13,69,087 candidates were registered. Overall passpercentage was 97.32%.2.7Compartment and Improvement of Performance ExamsSenior School Certificate (Compartment) Exam will start from15th July, 2015.SecondarySchool (Improvement ofPerformance) Examination in Scheme-I will be conducted by theschools in July 2015 and Scheme-II will be conducted by theBoard from 15th 23rdJuly, 2015. However, the Hor,'bleSupreme Court of India, ordered to re-conduct the AIPMT 2015 .examination andto declare result by August 17, 2015. UDAAN2.21The total number of candidates benefitted by Udaan in 2014-15were 359 in Class XII and 429 in Class XI. These were selectedfrom 48 Boards of schooleducation spread across 36 states inIndia. Total functional City Coordinator Centres: 58 (at leastonein every State I UT).'.1CBSE - PHYSICAL EDUCATION& SPORTS2.22The CBSE Sports & Games Competitions, that are part of theBoard's educational activity are self financed. The · Boardreceives Rs 10000.00 per-year per school as annual mandatorysports fee. Quiz Series under the Rashtriya Aavishkar Abhiyaan.,,.,) ADD. l fEM IXREPORTING .ITEM OF RE-CONDUCT OF AIPMT-2015 AFRESH INCOMPLIANCE TQ: THE JUDGMENT OF HON'BLE SUPREMECOURT OF INDIA TO BE HELD ON 25TH JULY, 2015 -.))))).,,The Controller of Examination, CBSE informed the house that incompliance· of the orders of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated15/06/20-15 and 19/06/2015, the Board has decided to re-conduct the· All India Pre-Medical/ Pre-Dental Test - 2015 on 25th July,2015(Saturday). Earlier it was conducted. on 3rd May, 2015. He · alsoinformed the Housethat the Board has made· some extra precautionarymeasures on the conduct of Re-Testfor fair and smooth conduct of the··exam. He added that the re-conduct of the AIPMT examinationandtaking additional precautionary measures will cost around Rs. 30crores; · Further the Hon'ble Chairperson informed the · House that .actually there was no leakage of the paper and not a single case. or.complaint was received in this regard till 5th May, 2015 i.e. 2 days afterconduct of examination. Few members of the Board raised a question. that why Board did not try to defend before the Hon'ble Supreme Courtwhen there was no, fault of CBSE. The Hon'ble Chairperson informedthe House that the Board has placed this fact before the Hon'bleSupreme Courtbut Hon'ble Supreme Court has passed an order to reconduct the examination.After detailed discussion, the members of the House noted the actiontaken· in compliance to the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court forre-conduct of AIPMT examination on 25th July, 2015.II9

Ajeeth Prasath Jain, Principal, Bhavan's Rajaji Vidyashramapprised the house of the agenda item regarding making Tamil acompulsory language while allowing Hindi as optional language in allschools of Tamilnadu state. After detailed deliberation, the Houseresolved that as its matter of the State Govt., the Board follow thenational policy.ADD. ITEM XI. FILLING UP OF VACANTCBSE.POSITION IN VARIOUSCATEGORIESINThe Secretary, CBSE apprised the house of the administrative matterof the Board regarding filling up of· vacant positions in variouscategories in the Board. The Hon'ble Chairperson informed the Housethatto expansion of the Board and a number of examinationdueactivities organized by the Board; there is · a huge shortage ofmanpower in the CBSE. She further added that the Board would like tohave their own Data Centre to manage huge data and own server andthe Board should have an agency for legal affairs to deal with lots ofcourt cases of the Board. She added that the Account department ofthe Board also needs to be upgraded.
