INTRODUCTIONThese step-by-step instructions will lead you through the workflow procedure in order to get familiarwith the software environment. »Starter .dwg files« should be used.In this tutorial you will learn how to design traffic signs and road markings. You will get to know whichtools are available for editing traffic signalization and how to create a report of traffic signs or roadmarkings.1. TRAFFIC SIGNSDesigning traffic signs is enabled in module Autosign. All objects are linked to Plateia alignments withautomatic stationing assigned, user comment added, custom labels and more.Open the drawing »QTD 2.dwg«.1.1 Library manager1. Your alignment »Axis road« should be set asactive (the icon next to the alignment name iscoloured blue).2. From the Ribbon under Autosign 3D tab, onLibraries panel click Library manager.3. In Library Manager dialog box, libraries can bedownloaded. To download a random library,click onbutton.4. Check AASHTO signalling package and clickInstall. When download is finished, click Close.5. 1.2 Draw traffic sign1. On Vertical Signs panel, click on icon TrafficSign.2. Traffic signs library opens on the left side of theprogram. Various Groups of traffic signs areavailable. Select a random group and a trafficsign from it.3. In the next step select a point in the drawingwhere you want to place a traffic sign. Insteadof selecting a point, you can define a station incommand line.4. Then define a location of a traffic sign in thedrawing (with mouse click). At the input of anindividual sign you determine the stand of thetraffic sign, its position, rotation and size. Theuser can set the dimension and shape of theposts and foundations of the traffic signs in the“Post and fundament” dialog, with the click onbutton.5. After Traffic signs are designed, it is possible tocreate a report. On Reports panel, click on iconReport.6. In Reports dialog box select Report type: Trafficsigns report.Select signalling elements for report: Allsignalling elementsTable contents: TS XML SETTINGSTable style: ARO MAINPTSTBL7. 2. ROAD MARKINGSIt is possible to design line markings, cross markings and other road markings.2.1 Line markings1. From the Ribbon under Autosign 3D tab, onPavement markings panel click the icon LineMarking.2. In the drawing select a line, on which you wantto draw longitudinal marking.3. In dialog box specify:Type of the line (in drop down menu),Start and end station stay as default (from thebeginning to the end of selected line)Width: 0.10Offset: 0.00Colour: red4. Confirm with OK.2.2 Cross markings1. From the Ribbon under Autosign 3D tab, onPavement markings panel click the icon CrossMarking. 2020 CGS Labs d.o.o., All rights reserved.6

2. In dialog box specify:Type of cross marking: CrosswalkLength: 0.50Offset: 0.50Color: black3. Confirm with OK and select three or possiblyfour border points in the drawing.5.3. GANTRY1. From the Ribbon under Autosign 3D tab, onVertical signs panel click the icon Gantry.2. In dialog box specify:Alignment: AXIS ROADName: Gantry 1H: 5A: 10B: 0Check: Draw fundament3. Confirm with OK.4. Before selecting a point in drawing to locategantry, enter R (rotate) in command line andpress Enter.5. Select a point in the drawing to locate a gantry,and then rotate it. 7. Guide sign can be placed on gantry if they areprepared beforehand.4. TOOLS4.1 EditTraffic signs and road markings can be edited with different tools: edit, label, copy, delete, refresh andmove.1. From the Ribbon under Autosign 3D tab,on Tools panel, click on icon Edit.2. Select an element in the drawing you wantto edit: for example select one longitudinalmarking and press Enter.3. 4.2 Label1. From the Ribbon under Autosign 3D tab,on Tools panel, click on icon Label.2. Select an element in the drawing you wantto label: for example select onelongitudinal marking.3. In the next step specify label position inthe drawing, define a label number andpress Enter.4.3 Move1. From the Ribbon under Autosign 3D tab,on Tools panel, click on icon Move.2. Select a traffic sign in the drawing you wantto move and press Enter.3. In the next step specify new traffic sign locationand position the drawing, and press Enter.4.4 Copy1. From the Ribbon under Autosign 3D tab,on Tools panel, click on icon Copy.2. Select a traffic sign in the drawing you wantto copy and press Enter.3.
