If yousynchronize contact information between these twodevices, some of the data may be transferred to anincorrect field, and some data may not be transferred atall.Note: All changes made to a device since theprevious synchronization are copied to theother device. This means that if you havedeleted some information from a device, thatinformation is also deleted from the otherdevice during synchronization.You can transfer content from a compatible Nokia deviceto your Nokia E62 using Bluetooth connectivity or infrared.The type of content that can be transferred depends on thephone model. If the other device supports synchronization,you can also synchronize data between the other deviceand your Nokia E62. For more information on compatibledevices, contact your dealer, operator, or service provider.Bluetooth transferTo transfer data to your Nokia E62:1 Select Menu Tools Transfer.2 Select Transfer data to begin data transfer.Transferring data to your Nokia E62Transferring data to your Nokia E62Using a Bluetooth or infrared connection, you cansynchronize, for example, your calendar and contactentries between the two devices. The phone allows you toselect the categories of data that you wish to move.Because device models are designed differently, there maybe differences in the way they handle data transfer. Transferring data to your Nokia E6243 Select Via Bluetooth. Both devices must support theselected connection type.4 Activate Bluetooth in your other device, and selectContinue in your Nokia E62 to start searching fordevices with active Bluetooth connectivity.5 Once the search has finished, select your other devicefrom the list. You are asked to enter a passcode (1 to16 digits) on your Nokia E62. The passcode is used onlyonce to confirm this connection.6 Enter the passcode on both devices. The devices arenow paired. For more information on pairing devices,see Nokia E62 User Guide.Tip: For some phone models, the Transferdata application is sent to your otherdevice as a message. To install Transfer dataon your other device, open the message,and follow the instructions on the display.7 From your Nokia E62, select the content you want totransfer from your other device by scrolling the listCopyright 2006 Nokia. All rights reserved.and pressing the joystick, and select OK when you havechosen all content types you want to transfer.Content is copied from the memory of the other device tothe corresponding location in your device. Copying timedepends on the amount of data to be transferred. You canalso cancel and continue later. After the transfer is over,you can view Transfer log in the Data transfer menu.

5 From your Nokia E62, select the content you want totransfer from your other device by scrolling the listand pressing the joystick, and select OK when you havechosen all content types you want to transfer.Tip: Bluetooth connectivity is much faster thaninfrared. Its use is recommended whenever youhave the choice.Infrared transfer1 Select Menu Tools Transfer.2 Select Transfer data to begin data transfer.3 Select Via infrared. Both devices must support theselected connection type.After the transfer is over, you can view Transfer log in theData transfer menu.Transferring data to your Nokia E62The necessary steps for data transfer may vary dependingon your device, and whether you have interrupted datatransfer earlier. Transferring telephone numbers using a SIM card6Transferring telephone numbers using a SIM cardYou can copy all or some of the phone numbers on a GSMphone to your Nokia E62. Duplicate contacts will becreated if the same contact already exists on your NokiaE62. These duplicate contacts can be deleted manuallyafterwards.To copy telephone numbers using a SIM card:1 Copy the numbers you wish to move from anotherGSM phone to the SIM card, following the instructionsprovided in the user guide of the phone.2 Move the SIM card to the Nokia E62.3 On the Nokia E62, select Menu Contacts Options SIM contacts SIM directory to open the SIMdirectory.4 Mark the contacts you want to copy, or select Mark allto copy all contacts.5 Select Options Copy to Contacts.Select Options SIM contacts SIM directory to see thenames and numbers stored on the SIM card.
