Who is Dr. APJ Abdul KalamA.P.J. Abdul Kalam, in full Avul Pakir JainulabdeenAbdul Kalam, (born October 15, 1931,Rameswaram, India - died July 27, 2015, Shillong),Indian scientist and politician who played aleading role in the development of India's missileand nuclear weapons programs. He was presidentof India from 2002 to 2007.He is a man of vision, who is always full of ideasaimed at the development of the country.

Early Life of Dr. APJ Abdul KalamDr. APJ Abdul Kalam Father,Jainulabdeen was a boat ownerand imam of a local mosque andhis mother Ashiamma was ahousewife.Kalam was the youngest of fourbrothers and one sister in hisfamily.
He completed its education at theSchwartz Higher Secondary School,Ramanathapuram.He graduated in physics 1954 fromSaint Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli.He moved to Madras in 1955 to studyaerospace engineering in MadrasInstitute of Technology.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam won many awards,both from the Indian government andfrom the international community.His most notable awards were thePadma Vibhushan, won in 1990, andthe Bharat Ratna won in 1997, for hiscontributions to science andengineering and service to thegovernment.
On 27 July 2015, Kalam travelled to Shillong todeliver a lecture on "Creating a Livable Planet Earth"at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong.While climbing a flight of stairs, he experiencedsome discomfort, but was able to enter theauditorium after a brief rest.At around 6:35 p.m. IST,only five minutes into his lecture, he collapsed. Hewas rushed to the nearby Bethany Hospital in acritical condition; upon arrival, he lacked a pulse orany other signs of life. Despite being placed inthe intensive care unit, Kalam was confirmed deadof a sudden cardiac arrest at 7:45 p.m IST. His lastwords, to his aide Srijan Pal Singh, were reportedly:"Funny guy! Are you doing well?“
My message, especially to young peopleis to have courage to think differently,courage to invent, to travel theunexplored path, courage to discoverthe impossible and to conquer theproblems and succeed.
