2Tracker Disaster Recovery (DR) PlanTracker has a comprehensive Disaster Recovery (DR) plan in place. Thisis the reason why Tracker as a business could survive a fire thatdestroyed its head office building January 2009.As part of the Tracker DR plan, Tracker has invested and rolled out afully redundant system at the IBM business continuity data centre inRandburg. Information is replicated live between the primary datacentre located at the Tracker Head Office and the DR data centre locatedat the IBM business continuity facility. Both the primary and the DR data centre have their own communicationinfrastructure that connects them to the outside world (cellular networksas well as to the Internet). As part of the agreement with IBM, we also have access to sufficient call centre seats to accommodate allcritical functions in the business.A DR test is conducted once year, where we simulate a disaster and operate from the IBM business continuitysite for a whole day. These tests are witnessed and verified by external auditors.3Information SecurityInformation security is very high on the Tracker agenda. In summary these are the measures we have takento ensure that customer information is secure at all times: We have implemented physical access control to our campus and biometric access to our buildings; To enter into our IT system you have to be registered on Tracker’s domain. On the domain we forcea high degree of security rules around aspects like passwords according to best practice. We also doa monthly reconciliation between our domain users, our biometric system and payroll;Once inside our IT system, access is role based. In other words users are allowed access to only theinformation pertaining to their roles; From a network perspective the sensitive systems are isolated either logically or physically. We dohave a firewall in place with a DMZ topology; We do keep a complete audit trail on any IT system access; We also do polygraphs on a random sample for all personnel at all levels; We further have an annual security review performed by one of the 4 large auditing firms in SA onour general / application controls and to perform an external penetration test.Page 5 of 6
