The backup batterywill be charged when you connect the AC power adapter to a wall outlet notcontrolled by a wall switch.1. Press down on the tab to open the battery compartment cover.3. Getting startedBackup battery chargingWhen the deskset loses power with the backup battery installed, the screenindicates the battery status (see the following table). The backup battery isfully charged after 16 hours of continuous charging. Place your corded handset aside. Use a coin to rotate the handset tab 180degrees. The protruding edge holds the corded handset when the deskset ismounted on the wall.Protruding edgeHandset tab2. Getting startedAdd and register a desksetYou can add CM18245/AM18247 desksets to the CM18445/AM18447 consoleat any time, each new deskset must be registered with the console before use.The desksets are assigned with available extension numbers starting from 1in ascending order (1 to 9). You can register a maximum of nine devices to theconsole.To register the deskset to the CM18445/AM18447console:Start registration when the deskset shows1) Press MENU on Console - Registration - RegisterExt. and 2) Press # on this extension to register.alternately.1. On the console, press MENU/SELECT.2. Press or to scroll to Registration, then pressMENU/SELECT or /SKIP.3. Press MENU/SELECT or /SKIP to choose Registerext. The console shows Registering.4. On the deskset, press #. The deskset showsRegistering.5. You hear a beep sound when the registrationprocess is successful. The deskset shows DesksetX registered. (X represents the extension number,ranged from 1 to 9). It takes up to 60 seconds tocomplete the registration process.6. Lift the handset.
