INTERVIEWS JOAN AND CHRONICLES.A Day at a Home ofthe Family of Love!"By NNN Correspondent, Isaac Jamaican"Hello", said a friendly voice atthe other end of the line when wepicked up the phone, "My name isJacques, and I met members ofyour family in Senegal". We excitedly invited him over for dinnerthat evening and upon arrival,Jacques found the same love andhappiness here, in one of ourheavenly homes in Paris, as he hadfound with the family in Senegal. He told us that Joseph and Abigail and their little band had playedseveral times on his program, andthat he had come to Paris to workon a series of television programscalled, "Kaliedescope", whichwould be broadcast in 14 different countries of West Africa. After sharing all evening about ourMERCY WITH A REPORTERFROM TIME MAGAZINE.work in France and around theworld, Jacques felt so inspired thathe decided to film one of the"Kaliedescope" series here in ourhouse and garden! The programwould be called, very appropriately, "A Day at a Home of the Familyof Love! "

SINGING, DANCING AND PLAYING FOR THOUSANDS IN OUR BACKYARD.Two weeks later the filming began andwe found our garden full of well-knownAfrican stars and two reporters from "Time"Magazine. With the "Family of Love" beingthe stars of the show, Jacques interviewedJoan and Chronicles about our revolutionarylife style and radical beliefs, and filmed a totalof seven songs, among which were "I Believe It", "Alleluya", "Sometimes Lord"and "Moments". Placed between the songswere the performances of different Africanstars to add some "colour" and variety! At the end of a day of hard work andlots of music, we praised the Lord and thanked Him for giving us the opportunity toshare His Message of Love with 14 countriesin West Africa all at one time!JESHANA SHARES ALOOK OF LOVE.

prices of food and tickets, and therain and mud of this year, we foundthe wonderful opportunity to be asample of God's love for the lostand lonely youth of today. For fourdays we passed out free hot food, gave them shelter from the rain aswe played them the living songs ofthe Spirit and portrayed to themthe love of Jesus. The Lord provided us with alarge tent, at the end of which weplaced a stage for musical and theatrical performances. The attendingcrowds were moved and wooed bythe music from our musical group"Tender Loving Care". They woulaplay during the breaks between thebands on the main stage and werebacked up by the music and skits ofHabakkuk 2:4 and the Arnhem"Catacomb Kids" colony. It was quitea show and the audience loved it.The crew of cooks, headed up byZecheriah Carpenter, worked dayand night to keep the food line wellsupplied, and it was really a miracleto see the multitude getting fed. Potafter pot of stew and trays of sandwiches and fruit were passed out asBelgian Micah brought in truckloadsof food donated to us by businessmen of the area. In all, over 7,000people came through our food line! Many souls were won through thesample of love and the testimony ofthose there who were working sohard to share all they could. It wasthis dedication that won the respectof the kids as well as the hearts ofthe people in the community ofBilzen. Thank God for this marvellous chance to be a sample of thelife giving love of His Son, Jesus. We Love You!Photos, text, and Layout by Hashuba Tribune.6NEW NATION NEWS

FAITH IN MANILA!REPORT FROM CHILDREN OF GOD FAITH DAVID & JUAN CARLOSON THE WORLD PEACE THROUGH LAW CONFERENCE& THEIR MEETINGS WITH PRES. MARCOS OF THE PHILIPPINES!Faith with delegates meeting President and Mrs. Marcos.Thursday. August 18. 1977: Wearrived safely in Manila, and our firstimpression was very favourable. The people are very friendly andmusical. Going through customswas another chance to see howfriendly and receptive people arehere.—Quite a change after being inthe U.S. for a few hours! Here inManila you can really feel the ThirdWorld spirit the minute you walkout of the airport. For us it wassuch a blessing. We drove to the Philippine PlazaHotel where most of the other delegates were also going to be staying. The literature we prepared for theConference, our "Deprogramming:A 20th Century Inquisition?", wasbeing printed to be ready the following day.NEW NATION NEWSFriday. August 19: We called CostaRica to talk to our friend DonGuillermo Padilla Castro, CostaRica's leading lawyer, and he gaveus his blessing and total authorisation to represent Costa Rica in theConference, as his health did notpermit him to make the trip toManila himself.Saturday. August 20: Faithy finalchecked Dr. Padilla's paper on"International Violations of HumanRights."Sunday. August 21: At 7:30p.m., as representatives of CostaRica, we walked into the huge beautiful room at the Convention Centerwhere more than 5,000 delegatesfrom all over the world had assembled for the inaugural banquet of theConference.

We saw all the delegates receivingour anti-deprogramming brochurefrom a group of beautiful smilinggirls, part of our local Family. All the delegates would immediatelyopen the brochure to see what wasin it. When we came back to thehotel we saw many of them sittingin the lobby reading the material. We also gave them the article "TheNew Exorcists". All of them werevery interested in the material.Monday. August 22: We went tothe Convention Center for the opening ceremony of the Conference, and the place was packed withpeople. At 10:30 a.m. PresidentMarcos and his very charming wifewalked in. They have a very sweetlook and very gentle faces. Ouropinion of them changed immediately, since we had been a little bit influenced by what the Western presshas said about the Philippines, whichis mostly negative. The President gave a beautifulspeech welcoming the delegates andstarted answering all the attacks thePhilippines had been receiving fromthe Western press. His wife also gavea very short but direct speech in answer to the attacks of their enemies.Afterwards, Faithy ran over to wherethey were standing to say a fewwords to the President: "God blessyou and thank you for what youare doing for your country." Heacknowledged her and said, "Thankyou!"In the afternoon session, afterobserving the procedure of thislarge conference, we realised thatit was going to be difficult to getone's point across. We were stillhoping to try to present our antideprogramming issue, and later thatsame day we found out that some8one had gone to the newspaper withour brochure and that they weregoing to do an article about us!Thank You Lord!Tuesday. August 23: We receiveda call from the Conference organisers saying that we needed to present Don Guillermo's paper. Theytold me they were going to distribute it among the delegates. So at9:00 a.m. we walked into the conference room where there was to bea session on International Violations of Human Rights. When we got there, the paper wasnot being distributed, so I went backto the main center to inquire aboutit, only to find that the Conferencewas being controlled by the Americans. We were completely disappointed to see how the Americanswere running the whole show.During this session while the ChiefSupreme Justice of Israel was talkingand attacking the Philippine government, a man suddenly stood up andstarted yelling out, saying howcould the Jews be such hypocritesto accuse the government of violating human rights when Israel hadviolated the human rights of a wholenation! The session got kind ofhot and the Americans controllingthe session got kind of worried. They called the delegate fromGreat Britain, and the same man whohad spoken out of place stood up andwalked to the microphone. The roomgot so quiet you could hear a pindrop! The American organisers frozewhen they saw him stand up! Hebegan by saying:"I have been living in Great Britainfor the last 20 years because I am aPalestinian who had to leave my country because of the Jews. Now I ama law professor at Oxford University."NEW NATION NEWS

There was a long and loud gasp fromthe crowd. Some people began toclap. He continued by apologising forinterrupting the session, saying thatthe day before he had not beenallowed to talk because both thePresident and Chairman of that session were Jews, and that he had notflown halfway around the world notto talk. The crowd started to really backhim up. He remarked that to hisamazement anywhere you go inthis Conference you find either Jewsor American Jews presiding overthe sessions and the whole Conference was under their control. Thisreally got the crowd excited andeverybody started clapping andagreeing with him. Then he commented on the speechof the Chief Justice of Israel. Hesaid that it was funny for Jews totalk about the human right of a person to leave a country without anyprohibitions if he had not violatedany laws, when in Israel, their owncountry, they have that very sameprohibition! What was worse, he continued, was that Israel not only doesnot allow people to go out, but thevdo not allow a whole nation (the Palestinians) to go back to their homes! So he asked for a resolution that theU.N. should protect the humanright of people to go back to theirown country.By this time the crowd was completely behind him, and the Americans and the Jews were completelystunned at this verbal face slap, which they were not expecting! This brought the reaction of manyof the delegates to protest againstthe organisation of the Conference. Then when the Chairman was goingNEW NATION NEWSto give the Chief Justice of Israel achance to reply, all the people stoodup and left the room, so the sessionwas called off! That night was the State Banquetoffered by the President of the Philippines in honour of the delegates. We sat at the best table right in frontof the President, with our friendsthe Iranian delegates. The dinnerwas delicious and was a sample ofthe wonderful Filipino hospitality. When President Marcos and hiswife were leaving the hall, theystopped at our table and again Faithygot a chance to share a few wordswith both the President and his wife:"I want to thank you for what youhave done for your people and yourcountry. God bless you!" Whenthey went by me I stretched out myhand and said, "God bless you, welove you very much and hope to seeyou soon in Latin America." ThePresident answered in Spanish:"Gracias, Latino America, como no,ya nos veremos."Wednesday. August 24: Dr.Padilla's paper on human rightswas rejected by the Conference onthe grounds that it was a directattack against the organisers of thisConference—the U.S.A. Of course, the paper had to be an expose ofthe U.S.A., since this particular wellknown international case deals withthat country. The paper was notmeant to be an attack on any country, but was chosen by Dr. Padillaas an example of violations of humanrights in connection with politicalpersecution, ranging from attemptsagainst human life by governmentofficials, to character assassinationand the "sophisticated" humanrights violations practised by such a

government—all under the guise ofpursuit of justice.Thursday. August 25: We werevery upset to see how the Americanswere running things. We tried tospeak, but our name was never called.I walked over to the Chairman's deskand told him he had violated thestanding rules of the Conference—by allowing more than one delegateof the same country to speak beforea delegate from each country hadspoken. The Chairman had calledfive Americans in a row without letting me speak and Costa Rica wasnever represented. I told him I wasgoing to present a written complaint(which I did later, released to thepress). He very politely apologisedand said that he had never receivedmy request to speak from the rapporteur who was passing the requests—also an American! On top of it all, today I receiveda paper being distributed among thedifferent delegates that again violatedthe standing rule of the Conference, that no political attack could bemade against any specific country. It was disguised under the innocenttitle of "Dialogue on Human Rights"signed by Peter Weiss, U.S.A., andcontained political accusationsagainst President Marcos' government. This not only violated the standingrule of the Conference but also violated the most basic rules of mannerly conduct by attacking the hostcountry and its beautiful people!By this time, needless to say, oureyes were opened to how the Americans and Jews were using thisConference for their own politicalends!Friday. August 26th: This wasthe last day of the Conference.10At the closing lunch banquet wewanted to present President Marcoswith a pack of our literature whichwe had prepared for him containing:"Deprogramming: A 20th CenturyInquisition?", "The New Exorcists",a copy of the "New Nation News"with Faithy on the cover, a catalogueof our French singing group "LesEnfants de Dieu", "Change theWorld!" by Moses David and Faith's"Viva South America".After the meal Faithy got the litand passing through all the securityguards, started walking next to thePresident. (See front cover!)His chief security man asked herwhat she was doing there, whichcaused Pres. Marcos to turn aroundand give his complete attention toFaithy. She then handed the literature to him, and he said, "What isthis?" and started pulling the material out of the envelope. As hestopped and started looking at it,Faithy said,"It is about violations of humanrights against religious groups—in theUnited States!" He smiled and said,"Ooohhh!" and handed the lit tohis secretary and said, "Please keepthis for me."Most of the delegates were leavingthe next day with a completely newopinion of the Philippines. The Conference itself, I feel, did not accomplish its purpose of defending thecause of human rights of the individual, but served only as a politicaltool to the organisers. The main benefit of the Conference was that it was held inthe Philippines, enabling this country to present to the world thetruth of what its government andpeople really are, to counteractthe lies of the Western press! TOMMYTHE TRUE STORY OF A LITTLE CRIPPLEDBOY WHO FOUND AWAY TO HELP OTHERS!As told by MOSES DA VID.ommy was a little crippled newsboy, whose mangled body lay almost helplesson a pitiful pallet by the third story window ofan old rickety tenement on a busy street of alarge city! He'd asked a newsboy friend of his to bringhim the book about a man who went abouteverywhere doing good! The little lad searchedand searched for this unnamed book for hiscrippled friend, until one book dealer finallyrecognised that he must be talking about theBible, and the story of Jesus! The tiny ladscraped together what few pennies he had, andthe kindly bookseller gave him a copy of theNew Testament, which he rushed back to Tommyon his third-floor pallet! They began to read ittogether, till—Tommy was saved through the words that heread in the book, and he, too, wanted to dogood, like the Man in the Book—but he was crippled, and could not even leave the little oneroom apartment of his old aunt with whom helived! But he prayed and asked God to helphim, and the Lord showed him a plan!He began to scribble labouriously, helpfulverses from the Bible on tiny scraps of paper, which he would then drop out of his thirdfloor window to flutter to the busy street below!Passers-by would see them fluttering down, andcuriously pick them up to see what they were, only to read the words of a Man who went around everywhere doing good—Christ Jesus! Many were helped, encouraged, comforted, andeven saved, through this simple little ministry ofthis little lad and his Bible and tiny window! One day a wealthy businessman was wonderfully saved through reading one of these littleverses! After finding Christ, he returned to theT

spot where he had found the tinyscrap of paper that had led him tothe Lord, seeking some key as tohow it got there! Suddenly he noticed another little bit of paperfluttering down to the sidewalkfrom above; and a poor, tired, oldwoman stooped painfully to pick itup, and he watched her countenance brighten as she read it—andthere seemed to be new strength inher step, as she journeyed on!The businessman now, transfixedto the spot, kept his eyes glued upward, determined to find the source! He had to wait a long time, for ittook poor little, crippled Tommymany painful minutes to scrawl evenone verse on one of those bits ofpaper!Suddenly the businessman's eyeswere riveted to a certain window,as he saw a thin, little, scrawny handreaching outward to drop a littlepiece of paper, like the ones he hadseen before, and the one that hadbrought a whole new life to him!He carefully noted the location ofthe window, dashed up the stairs ofthe dirty tenement, and finallyfound the little one-room hovel oftiny Tom, the sidewalk missionary! He and Tom immediately becamefast friends, and he brought Tom allthe help and medical attention thathe could, and finally invited Tom tocome live with him in his palatialmansion in the suburbs! This is a true story and I wish Icould remember the man's name, but as I recall, he was a hat manufacturer in the city of Philadelphia(U.S.A.)!But much to his surprise, Tom answered, "I'll have to ask my Friend14about it"—meaning Jesus! The nextday the businessman returned, eagerly awaiting Tom's reply! Oddlyenough, Tom asked him some strangequestions: "Where did you say yourhome is?" "Oh," said the businessman, "It's far out in the country, ona large and beautiful estate. You'llhave a beautiful room all your own,and servants to care for you, delicious meals, a good bed, every comfort and attention, and anythingyour heart desires; and my wife andI will love you dearly, and rear youas our own son." Hesitantly Tomqueried again,"Are there any folks that wouldpass under my window?" Surprisedand somewhat baffled, again thebusinessman replied, saying, "Why,uh, no, only an occasional servant, and perhaps the gardener! You don'tunderstand, Tom, this is a gorgeousestate, way out in the country, farfrom the busy noise of the city, andthe tumult of people! You'll havequiet there, and be able to rest, andread, and do all you want -awayfrom all this filth and smoke andnoise and busy throngs."After a long and thoughtful silenceTom's face looked very sad, for hehated to hurt his new-found friend:but finally he said quietly, but firmly, with tears in his eyes, "I'm sorrSir, but you see,"I couldn't live anywhere wherepeople don't pass under my window."I believe this simple little truelife story was a turning point in m own life as a little lad, for, when Iheard it told to me by my ownmother, who knew tnis man personally, I determined then andNEW NATION NEWS

there, that by the grace of God inmy own life, I would always trynever to live anywhere that peoplecould not pass under the window ofthe ministry of God's Love in myown life!"I could never live anywhere thatpeople don't pass under my window!" Could you? Having oncemet the Man who went about everywhere doing good to those whopassed under the window of His life, including me, how could I ever liveselfishly again, where people couldnot pass under my window, and receive the same! "Freely ye have received, also freely give ' (Mt. 10:8).Here's the true life story of someone so ignorant, so helpless, and soisolated, you would have thoughthe could have had no ministry atall, and would seem to have hadevery excuse for not ministering toothers, but rather needed to beministered unto. But love found a way! Someoneis passing under your window rightnow! Has His love showed you howyou can help them? He will, if youwant to, no matter what the conditions, or your limitations—forGod has a window too, and He haspromised that, if we obey Him, andopen the windows of our lives uponothers, He "will open the windowsof Heaven, and pour out such ablessing, there will not be roomenough to hold it!"
