Automotive EngineeringGraduate with your master’s, ready to work on the development of internal combustionengines for the automotive, heavy equipment or recreational engine sectors. UW–Madisonis home to the Engine Research Center, a world-renowned institute for engine research anddevelopment. Courses emphasize in-cylinder energy conversion processes. Students learn: – Fundamentals of energy conversion processes with an emphasis on internal combustionengines – Data collection and analysis of internal combustion engine data – 1-D and 3-D fluid dynamics modelingElectives within this discipline can be chosen to explore the area in more detail or diveinto related topics such as controls, electro-magnetic energy conversion or environmentalimpacts.
