About UsThe Las Vegas-Clark County Library District nurtures the social, economic, and educational well-being ofpeople and communities. The Library District is committed to building communities of people who cancome together to pursue their individual and group aspirations.The Library District has 25 branches, serving 1.6 million people over 8,000 square miles.We welcome over 650,000 people to 21,000 library-sponsored and community events each year.Programming and Venues Department (PVS)The PVS Department coordinates the use of our venues via partnerships and rentals. We partner withother government entities and non-profit institutions to present free and open public programs withoutsolicitation or commercial intent, that align with the Library District’s strategic framework. All PVS facilitiesare available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis.Our six performing arts centers, all with dedicated sound, lighting and projection equipment, are uniquespaces offering varying performance options and seating capacities: Clark County (399 seats), Summerlin(283 seats), West Charleston (276 seats), West Las Vegas (295 seats), Whitney (198 seats) and Windmill(294 seats). The rental rate is 40 per hour, with additional fees for technicians, security, and insurance(through a separate vendor). Reservations are accepted up to one year in advance.Our 21 meeting Rooms at 14 library branches can accommodate up to 300 people. All of the meetingrooms have tables and chairs, and many feature audio-visual equipment. The rental rate is 30 per hour,and reservations can be made up to six months in advance on our website (www.lvccld.org), or in personat any library branch.West Las Vegas Library TheatreThe West Las Vegas Library Theatre is a proscenium theater with 295 seats. It features a fly loft, its ownlobby, a sprung floor, and several dressing rooms. The facility is well suited for large theatrical and danceproductions.The West Las Vegas Library is located at 951 West Lake Mead Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89106 in theheart of the Historic West Las Vegas community. Fee ScheduleRental and service fees apply to uses for which the Library District is not the presenting organization. Allrental fees have been adopted by Las Vegas-Clark County Library District’s Board of Trustees.PERFORMING ARTS CENTER RENTAL FEE - 40/HourThe Performing Arts Center Rental Fee is 40.00 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Reservations areaccepted on a first-come, first-served basis by written application up to one year in advance.STORAGE AND DARK DAY FEE - 70/DayThe Storage and Dark Day Fee is 70.00 per day and will be assessed anytime the venue is leftunoccupied or equipment is left in the venue, while the rental organization is not actively using the venue.This charge is only applicable to groups who occupy the venue for longer than two consecutive weeks.TECHNICAL SERVICES FEE - 40/Hour per TechnicianAt least one technician is required to be in the venue whenever it is scheduled to be in use. Only LibraryDistrict technicians and pre-approved individuals may operate performing arts center equipment. Morethan one technician may be required to be in the venue depending on the scope and needs of the event.The Technical Services Fee is 40.00 per hour, per technician with a two-hour minimum for eachtechnician.Overtime charges will be assessed should the technicians be required to stay on site for more than eighthours in a single day. The Technical Services Overtime Rate is 52.00 per hour.SECURITY SERVICES FEE - 15/HourAny rentals that use the space before or after normal library hours will be required to have a securityguard on the premises. The Security Services Fee is 15.00 per hour for a single security guard with afour-hour minimum.CLEANING AND JANITORIAL SERVICES FEE - 50/CleaningAny rentals that require excessive cleaning after an event is over will be assessed an additional Cleaningand Janitorial Services Fee at a minimum of 50.00 per cleaning.PIANO TUNING FEE – Approximately 125/TuningThe on-site piano is tuned every six months but can be tuned at the request of the rental organization.Tuning may only be performed by a Library District-approved piano tuner. The tuner determines the rateof the Piano Tuning Fee (usually 125.00 per tuning) and requires a minimum of two weeks’ notice.INSURANCEThe Library District requires that the rental organization obtain commercial general liability insurance(through a separate vendor) during performing arts center rentals. Front of HouseSEATING AREAThe West Las Vegas LibraryTheatre has a seating capacityof 295 people, with anadditional six accessibleseating locations. The distanceto the stage from the last rowof seats is approximately 49’0”. There are no partial viewseats in the house.LOBBYThe theatre’s 1,500 square foot lobbyarea and kitchen facilities provide anideal setting for lite-reception use.Receptions are allowed in the lobbyarea. MEETING ROOMA Meeting Room is situated in a publichallway across from the performing artscenter’s backstage entrance. It issuitable for receptions. It features amovable wall that can divide the room inhalf. There is no direct access from themeeting room to the Theatre.KITCHENETTEA kitchenette is located adjacent to theTheatre Lobby and is included intheatre usage. It contains arefrigerator, microwave, coffee maker,and sink with waste disposal. Thekitchen has a concession windowwhich opens to the lobby.11LVCCLD Tech Specs 07/29/21–RJN

USHERSUshers must be provided by all rental organizations. The suggested minimum is two adult ushers for aperformance with open seating and four adult ushers for performances with assigned seating. The LibraryDistrict provides front-of-house staff for all library programming events. In addition to helping customersfind their seats, ushers are also responsible for monitoring customers to ensure that no food or drink(other than bottled water) is taken into the performing arts center.ADA COMPLIANCEAccess to the Performing Arts Center is provided through the main lobby. Wheelchair accessibility isprovided as listed on the seating diagram and ground plan. The venue was designed and operates incompliance with ADA specifications.ASSISTIVE LISTENINGThe performing arts center is equipped with an assistive listening system that is available for use uponrequest. There are a total of 10 headsets available to audience members who may have difficulty hearingperformances. Headsets are typically located in the Control Booth but can be relocated to serve yourfront-of-house needs. Requests for a sign language interpreter must be directed to the performing rtscenter coordinator. Load In AreaLOADING DOCKThe Loading Dock can accommodate one truckat a time. The loading dock should only be usedwhile actively loading and unloading vehicles.The dock is 40’ from the stage roll up doorincluding the use of a ramp needed to accessthe venue. Trucks with a ramp can pull updirectly to the theatre loading dock door. Green RoomThe Green Room accommodates performers andspeakers as a lounge when not required onstage. TheGreen Room is situated off stage right and providesaccess to the stage and dressing rooms via abackstage hallway. It features tables, chairs, and asmall kitchenette.Dressing RoomsThe venue has two Star Dressing Rooms, each with aseparate shower and restroom as well as two ChorusDressing Rooms, one of which includes a separate shower.Both of the Chorus Dressing Rooms have two restroomsand a salon sink.
